what ya'll think about my engine set-up

Something tells me you've never out an engine together before. I would seriously look into GM fast burn heads over standard Vortec heads I'm not sure what 2 1/2 Long tube headers are, but 3" disk exhaust is WAY to big. 1.6 rockers wouldbe better. ditch the dual plane intake, and the Edelbroke...

    Shock Boot On Driveshaft?

The finer spline will actually be harder to shear, due to more surface area. As for the shock boot, the slip shaft has seals inside it to keep dirt and debris out. The shock boot idea will just trap more crap inside it, which will prematurely wear the seals ABS eventually the shaft.

    86 k10 with a 94 k2500 for parts

You're pretty much up shit creek without a paddle on parts interchangeability. I think the brake pedal pad and the cigarette lighter will work though. If you want fuel injection in your truck, the TBI parts wouls , but being a 94, it's going to have an electric trans, which makes things a bit...

    frame

81-87 for direct bolt in, 73-80 require since minor cutting for front bumper mounting, and different body bushings, but can be made to work very easy.

    NO OIL pressure

If the pan is off, replace the oil pump. It's foolish not to at this point

    1980 ck

Try to register it before you fix anything if you're not sure. If it fails, claim stupidity. Then fix your issues. No point in installing an AIR pump and converter if you don't need to.

    Gutless Wonder

So I'm a bit confused as to why we're talking about cam swaps, when we know the thing has not been properly tuned. The very first thing you need to do is figure out which of those timing marks, if either, is correct. Then, and only then can you begin to tune it properly. Pull the number one...

    Help with Proportioning Valve

Don't see why it wouldn't work with hydroboost, never heard of anyone having to change the prop valve when doing a hydro boost conversion on a vacuum boost truck.

how to check rotors and other questions.

Replacing pads, calipers, and hoses are not going to fix your vibration problem. The fact that it only happens when you're on the brakes indicates a warped rotor. Take them off, and take them to have them machined.

want to raise front end C20.

Stop worrying about what other people think of your truck. If you're happy with it, that's all that matters. My dark blue and gold 94 has extremely rusty cab corners, and a red hood. People make fun of it all the time... But those same people are the same ones who you'll be the first they...

    audio system for standard cab

I didn't jump ship. I've got my 77 still, and always will. Btw, I bought the K2500, pulled the engine, trans, and transfer case, as well as the TBI system, and doubled my money on the roller.

Hooking AC to 88+ serpentine setup

Never messed with an 88+ square body, so I never knew such a setup existed. Looks like that will solve all of my issues.

    Welding spider gears?

unless it breaks the carrier, or the center pin or c clip gets welded in the mix, then you're in for a whole axle.

    broken sway bar mount

The sway bar on my 80 actually won't fit. The braces for the plow mount would need to run right through it. Never had any problems at all with it.

    back of the cab

I've actually got a piece of 1/2" MDF glued to the rear cab panel in my 94 that I have my amp, a pair of distribution blocks, and my power slider mechanism mounted to. I removed the factory carpet piece, attached the MDF with a construction adhesive, then reinstalled the carpet. I simply...

Do I pull engine or tranny?

Honestly, it's going to be a ton easier to remove both at the same time. Pull the transfer case off of the back of the trans, and pull the engine and trans together. Oil pan is easier to get to, and you don't have to align a clutch, and then an entire trans while listing on your back.

    Always working alone...

I usually work alone too. I have a roommate who claims to be a truck guy, I'm figuring out after 15 years of knowing him, if it's more than unbolting, and replacing, it's over his head. He bought an S10 Blazer with a coolant leak in June and has been working on it since. Changed the intake...

    serpentine conversion question, regarding AC

Went and looked at an AC cab today for my plow truck. I'm planning on putting my 90 454 from my ex cab dually in it. I think the cab is mid 80s, and if I remember right the original AC compressor is on the driver side, isn't it? How would I go about hooking up the AC for the engine's passenger...

    looking for frame dimensions

I should probably elaborate for those of you not in the know. I'm working with a 1980 K20 frame, mounting a TBI 454 and 80e in it, and mounting a GMT 400 standard cab body on it, and probably building a flatbed. Actually planning on doing a writeup on the frame reconditioning, as it will get...
