    1973 c20 base NON-TILT steering column rebuild

Looking good Jim. You'll have it all together real quick here.

    Good bye fangs.

Looks great! Almost as if the factory did it that way initially.

    Off-roading Shocks

Like @dvdswan mentioned, figure out what type of terrain you'll be using your truck in first, then plan your build around that. If you're gonna be all twisted up and going pretty slow all the time, then you should be fine with pretty much any shock. The faster you want to go, the nicer the...

Simplified dual tank with sniper EFI

I'd bet you could add in a circuit that will auto activate the pump when the sender reaches a certain resistance, but that'd make it a bit more complicated. Would ensure that you would never accidentally run the primary tank dry unless you are 100% out of fuel in both tanks. Cool idea for sure!

    1973 c20 base NON-TILT steering column rebuild

Jim, Here' a couple shots of what I believe is considered to be the "lower shroud." It's connected directly to the upper shroud that actually engages the shift tube. The lower shroud is just a cover for aesthetics and protecting any moving parts and/or wiring.

Simplified dual tank with sniper EFI

No worries. Was just something that came to mind that could have posed an issue. Perhaps if you ran two separate lines, the vent for the primary tank would be enough to allow for enough of a pressure difference to allow for the 12v transfer pump to work at anytime?

Simplified dual tank with sniper EFI

Just spitballing here (no experience with efi or fuel systems). Only issue I would see with combining is that if the pressure from the EFI return is greater than the 12v transfer pump, you may have issues with it filling the other tank. But if the pump is too high of pressure compared to the...

    1973 c20 base NON-TILT steering column rebuild

Jim, If I remember correctly, part 7805365 Bearing is just a singular plastic piece. One column I had was that clear plastic, another one was a opaque white/beige one. I believe the shroud you are looking for connects directly to the shift bowl. It's pretty much an aesthetic part but it also...

    Drilled and slotted brake rotors

Heat dissipation is dependent upon material and surface area. Assuming same material, the more surface area, the higher the rate of heat dissipation. Higher mass volume allows for a higher total heat absorbed into the part. Whether they are stronger or weaker than solid rotors, I cannot say...

    Drag link limiting droop

I need to get a raised steering arm. I'm around 5-6" of lift and only have a drop pitman arm. About like a 2-3" drop to the axle, so pretty steep angle for the drag link. Steering on the truck is pretty loose, but that might be due to the old steering box that i believe is still original.

    1973 c20 base NON-TILT steering column rebuild

I just reconnected my rebuilt steering column yesterday. I couldn't get enough splines at the base of the upper shaft to connect to the lower steering shaft. I had to disassemble the column enough to where you remove the c clip that retains the splined steering wheel lock to allow for the upper...

    1973 c20 base NON-TILT steering column rebuild

Sounds like you've got a good project going on that shifter column. Mine isnt connected at the moment, but i'll grab ya a picture from my 74. Its missing the grommet that's needed. Has a cotter pin on the backside closest to the cab. Hope that helps.

What have you done to your square lately??

Oh for sure. Only used it a few times when absolutely necessary and stayed at a low speed. If I remember correctly it still had some of the injection nibs on the sidewall.

What have you done to your square lately??

I should check the date code on my spare, just for fun since i know its the old style sizing.

    Cab swap

I believe the vin is on the driver's door post. Also on top of driver's frame next to the steering box.

    Old School snap bed cover

I believe a lot of those were either all leather or all canvas. You could probably have an upholstery shop make one really easily. Not sure on what the cost would be though.

speed related Vibration (approx 55-75) seeking opinions

I'd check the condition of your trans mounts before you tear into it. If you can't remember the last time they were replaced, I'd say it's time to get a new set of em.

    well shoot..

Easily need all new cam bearings and new cam. Timing gears are cheap if you don't want to get an all gear drive again. I say tear into it and at least check everything. Sure, it'll take more time, but better to tear into it now than put some new parts into it and have a failure deeper in that...

    Building a 350

Like @Snoots said, give us an idea on budget and overall expectations and use of the truck. Do you want a mild lumpy cam, or for a simple all stock build?

    Narrow front control arms

Not anything that I'm aware of. With deep offset rims, you may have issues with contacting the frame before reaching lock-to-lock.
