3.08 Gears. What to Swap to?

Truck is a 1977 K10 with a stock 350, SM465, 31 inch tires, and 3.08 gears. It sees about 70% highway, 20% in town driving, and 10% low speed yard driving (some deep snow, small hills). No towing at all. I am satisfied with the highway performance, but it feels like it needs deeper gears around...

Engine Block Heater for SBC 350

I've lived most of my life where it regularly gets -40 for extended periods, and based on my experience from what I have used: First choice - recirculating coolant heater Second choice - coolant heater in place of a freeze plug Last choice - Magnetic oil pan heater. I haven't tried the other...

    87 receivers

When I looked a couple years ago, I couldn't find one either. I don't think anyone is making them for sale. I did however come across youtube videos on the topic of modifying a rear hitch to fit between the front frame rails.

Installing a New Exhaust System Including Headers

I am installing a new dual exhaust system on my stock '77 K10 to replace the swiss cheese straight pipe. I am also installing long tube headers. I have the passenger side header bolted in and the collector flange is touching the driveshaft. Any tips on bending it to clear? I am reluctant to heat...

What have you done to your square lately??

Loaded up the K10 with scrap metal today. I've been having issues with the divorced choke, not opening all the way. So I disconnected it and it ran way better on the highway, and used less fuel. I am going to try one of those electric conversions

What have you done to your square lately??

I haven't driven the 77 K10 much lately, and when I most recently drove it, the front brakes were dragging badly, but intermittently. Changed both calipers and bled the system and she's running great again.

    What are these for?

Mine are completely gone, just a hole remains. Do reproduction inner fenders have this feature?

    Mud Tires

I was lucky enough to be able to grab 6 semi locally. I see some mud and lots of deep snow but very little highway so they're working out great.

You can get cheap army surplus 8.25-16 if you look around. They're heavy duty and around 33" diameter but skinny if that might be an option

    Rear brake bleeding struggles

Maybe the rubber part of the line is collapsing when applying the vacuum, and a seized right rear wheel cylinder?

    2 post shop lift

I went 2 post. 9000 pound capacity lift. The reason I went 2 post is because it is more convenient to work on a vehicle's suspension. I chose the 9000 pound model because that's what I could fit in there due to the ceiling height. I have put half ton crew cabs on there with no issue. I wouldn't...
