Painless Wiring with Dakota Digital Fan Sensor

Page 12 shows the terminal and connector included in the painless kit. You would crimp that terminal to the orange wire on the Dakota fan controller and plug into port 2 on the painless fuse block that would provide the constant 12 volts to your Dakota fan controller. That terminal 2 on the fuse...

    Davis Off Road, crossover steering???

If you know what you are doing, you would piece together a crossover steering kit. Plenty of places sale components. https://www.wfoconcepts.com/ https://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/ https://barnes4wd.com/ I’ll keep my $2000 savings and use it for tires.

I’d need to win the powerball to buy anything. 3250 for crossover steering, ouch.

Will this lift fit my k5/jimmy?

    * you’ll most likely want to use an axle relocation plate with a shackle flip. The shackle flip moves the axle forward roughly an inch or so and the wheel is off center in the wheel well. The flip could also cause a shift in pinion angle, so you may want to budget for shims.

Will this lift fit my k5/jimmy?

For this use I suggest doing a combination of a suspension lift and a body lift. Say like a 4 suspension and 3 body lift. If not rock crawling and you don’t currently have a gov lock, the 10 bolt will suffice.

    Eaton MLocker

The trutrac is a Tosen style traction device. Would be my choice if a selectable locker is not in play.

Do I even need a gas tank vent tube?

The above advice would be applicable if you are not on a body lift. Based upon your avatar pic and moving the tanks up I assume that you do have a body lift? Either way, I would suggest running a vent line to a charcoal canister.

1987 GMC Jimmy 4x4 6" lift body mount bushing replacement

Sounds like you have a 6” suspension lift. The kit you’re looking at is referencing a body lift. Suspension lift will lift the truck from the frame up. A body lift is just that, lifts the body up from the frame. Your Jimmy has a short wheel base, the short wheel base will tend to have a...

whats every body using.. looking for a new stereo head unit

:boxed: But what do you play Spotify on that Bluetooth is connected to? I’ve always been a fan of Kenwood. The factory location in my truck has been filled with a cover plate. I have a small Kenwood unit inside a Tuffy console. Much easier to see all the buttons and controls.

The ORD mounts will place the rear of an LS block in the same place as the SBC block. https://www.offroaddesign.com/ls-motor-mounts-gu32010.html The engine crossmember that they offer for LS swaps is a nice upgrade as well.

    What gears

Stock tbi, 35’s and 70+ on the freeway? Are you near the Sierra Nevada Mountains? Big Bear? That stock tbi with 35’s isn’t going to hold you at 70 mph as soon as you get a whiff at an incline.

1973 Blazer tailgate aluminum panel restoration

I would hit up a hot rod shop or custom car shops and see about having them repair any dents or straightening and maybe do the finishing. If you just have the metal work done by them, there is a “boatload” of anodizing facilities in your neck of the woods. A cheap (used by myself) option for a...

    Wanting 4" suspension suggestions

Cheap would be Tuff Country EZ Ride. My experience with these is that they do ride pretty decent for off the shelf. I’d plan to buy some extended brake lines too, at least for the front. If you move the front axle forward you will need to cut the fender fang.
