How does this sort of thing happen????

One thing to remember is GM heavy starters need that rear torque strap employed or the starter can get all wonky and tears teeth up on the flex plate.

    Fuel pump

Once I get my truck back, calibration will be at the top of the list of things to tinker with.

    Fuel pump

An Edelbrock 1400 series is what my truck has too and when trying sudden acceleration, it too bogs a little, but I turned it into the body shop right after buying it and hadn't much time to tinker with it other than readjusting the mixture screws using a vac gauge which improved it quite a bit...

    Fuel pump

Always check fuel pressure and vacuum first if delivery is suspect. Get an inexpensive in-line pressure gauge and make sure delivery at idle is at least a steady 4lbs, throttle up to say 2000 rpms and what's your pressure. Running vacuum, stock engine, at idle should be I believe a steady 21 hg...

    TH350 intermittent leak

Surfin in my spare time (throwing darts) and found this article: converter drainback Torque converter drain back occurs with many types of transmissions, but is especially prevalent with Chrysler trannys. As soon as you start your vehicle the trans pump will begin to fill, or "charge" the...

Slow cranking when trying to start

Recheck all grounds (battery to body, battery to frame, battery to engine and whatever other ground point those models have) and use proper 4-gauge battery cabling, copper straps, fresh metal contacts - no shortcuts. Replace the positive battery cable with a new 4-gauge cable (no cheap CCA...

    I’m pretty pissed!!

I saw the writing on the wall and bought everything I'll need for my C15 refurbishing months ago RIGHT after Trump won. Knowing his stance on China I hopped on the internet and quickly abused the "Buy Now" button and now I just got to wait it out and see how this economic move of his goes...

'87 GMC Suburban V1500 1/2 ton - replacing leaf springs

Used to work at full-service gas station back in the late 70's and when taught to stick the underground tanks for water I was surprised that water was heavier (naive 18 yo) as well and super surprised at how much water settles in those underground tanks. Can't remember the capacity but if there...
