    V2500 4in lift replacement? ORD?

I wonder the same thing. It becomes costly by the time you get the 2wd steering box and either a new machined knuckle or find someone who can machine yours. Also I've seen a few YouTube's where the parts they buy give zero clearance for the oil pan. If it only helps bump steer I'm not sure it's...

What have you done to your square lately??

I tried to find a good thread on best practices to remove the resistor wire and replace it in the wire harness etc but I need a tach wire run anyway so I'll just run two new wires (one for Tach) and just cap the resistor wire to off in the wire loom. Thanks for warning me about that.

What have you done to your square lately??

 I sure did...err...tonight. So that line going to the coil isn't 12v? TIL.

What have you done to your square lately??

Finally switched to an HEI system. I bought new cables (unfinished so I could make them the exact length) but they didn't fit the new distributor (which are identical to spark plug ends) so I used the crimp on ends from the new set on the old cables. The "old" cables were nice MSD cables and...

Do I restore my AC or?

OK - from what people are saying: * It is reasonable to get my existing system working - which sounds good. * If I need to replace components, I should get R134a, which makes sense. I'll need to switch out at least the compressor and the condenser for R134. * I'm not sure what state my...

Do I restore my AC or?

Would that also require a different pump?

Do I restore my AC or?

I thought I typed up this question before but I couldn't find it, so I probably never clicked "Post thread." Anyway, I have the OG AC from 1974. The compressor label says it takes R12 (which seems to be available online still - Amazon). The line from the condenser to the evaporator appears to...

Old school Pioneer head unit, should I or should I not???

The plus is: you have it and your dash is already cut! That's a good reason to use it. The negative: is it's just a pretty basic unit from an era where they had some awesome head units. Finding one that's still working is a whole different story.

whats every body using.. looking for a new stereo head unit

I can't wait to start working on my audio. I was thinking Retro AutoSound. Mostly because my dash is uncut and I have a big hole there. If I had a dead stock unit I'd go with a blueTooth marine amp. If it was cut I would stick a DIN unit in there or maybe a double. At some point, the last...

    77 K10 - what should I be asking for?

Sounds nice. There will be a big audience for that truck in AZ. Asking price seems to be between $5-20K. Up to 30K if it has a fresh coat of paint (I assume these vehicles must be meticulously maintained). I saw a 77 K-20 on FB marketplace today that was a frame-off restoration for $85K...

    Instrument panel light question

Just to put closure on this, it appears my problem is the switch in the column itself. I wiggled the harness coming down from the steering column and that sorta brought it back to life but really if I pulled the blinker itself forward and backwards I could get it to start/stop working. The more...

    Instrument panel light question

The light is a 1157 so I believe it's the correct one. The marker light on the side I think is correct. Just because I had it, I put a dash bulb in the side spot planning on changing it but it turns out that bulb is the same as the dash bulb. Weird.

    Instrument panel light question

Updates: 1) The front bulb arrived. That seemed to solve the problem of the blinker light coming on with the headlight. 2) The right dash blinker still doesn't work. 3) The right front blinker also doesn't work on either the front or marker light. The left side toggles between the side and the...

    Instrument panel light question

Can you get a picture of the switch on the brake pedal? I could probably wire that right into the existing tan line and make that light be more helpful. Especially since I have driven with the parking brake on.

    Instrument panel light question

One last question on this topic - the "BRAKE" light in the dash. I was hoping this would be for more than just reporting problems with the proportioning valve, like telling me my parking brake is on. It wasn't working with my parking brake. It does light up when the engine is cranking (I assume...

    Instrument panel light question

ok, now I need to add more detail. It's all incandescent and every bulb has been replaced in the entire car except the front right blinker. I'm not sure if that bulb not being in place could be causing this problem.

    Instrument panel light question

I did not see an instrument panel ground wire...hmm. It's just a harness and the speedo cable and the oil line. I did see a wire grounded to the parking brake bracket so I'll chase it down.

    Instrument panel light question

I've rebuilt the instrument panel with a new housing and new speedometer. This whole project started with almost no dash lights working. I replaced all the bulbs and the only one I couldn't get resolved was the right blinker in the dash (the outside lights are blinking). 100% the cluster is...

    Instrument Panel housing

I couldn't find it and any of those. You're right - I searched and couldn't find them but they were hiding right in front of my face :hahano:

    Instrument Panel housing

My dash cluster is finally looking pretty good, but the white plastic housing is insanely brittle. The left mount tab was already broken and, while putting it back together, one of the top tabs that holds the dash bezel in place just snapped off. I think I can repair it but it's all still super...

    Keyless entry upgrade

I used to install alarms. GM are a pain compared to most vehicles in that you can't just send a signal to the switch wires. You'll need 2 Bosch style relays. IIRC the wiring was 85 to remote controller, 1 to lock and 1 to unlock 86 to power (assuming the remote sends a ground signal) 30 to...

Speedo working but Odometer not working

OK, So I finally took my whole cluster out so I could address my dead right blinker, the light that powers my fiber cables and of course my odometer. I have the little tumbler removed. It's clearly stuck. I can spin some of the tumblers if I "unwind" it and then spin them forward but once it...

    Switching to dumbo mirrors

I actually do, but it didn't really line up to anything for me. I ended up just eyeballing it. I think I centered the top with the back of the wing-window.

    Debugging my AC problems

I have no idea what's in it now. I really haven't touched it in anyway. This is sorta just the next step for me as I try to put my dash back together. I figured before I take it to a shop to recharge it I should probably replace the leaking things. *shrug*

    Debugging my AC problems

OK - I'm high-jacking my own thread with a question that is still on topic. AC systems in these vehicles seem pretty simple as far as parts go. a compressor, a couple vacuum controlled doors a blower and a radiator thing. I don't know how any of it works but I get the idea. The line that runs...
