If the shock mounts are different ( front / back - different spacing etc. ) it would be easier to grind off the old upper ( frame ) shock mounts and relocate / bolt back in, rather than having to re-weld the lower ones on the axle - No ?..- Fat 454

Adding 4WD, where does the shifter go?
stupid thought - but could you not use the floor hump from the old cab to located the shifter holes? If not, I would set the floor up for a bolt in high hump. Then you can find a couple in the junkyard and refine the position using card templates or similar.- Fat 454

Hi - really don't want to be the "safety nanny" here but... DO NOT use regular sand for any abrasive blasting. When the sand hits a surface it fractures and the resulting finer silica powder if inhaled can cause respiratory diseases like silicosis. Better options would be garnet ( silica free )...- Fat 454

Hi only real difference between the rated trucks that you cannot change with bolt-ons ( diff, axles etc. ) is the frame itself.
