roof rust "paint?"
Like @fast99 says - you will want to get the roof wet "sand" / media blasted to clean out the rust to bare metal. whether you do this first, or come back to it later, I would invest in an airless spray gun and hit it first with a cold galvanising ( zinc ) primer. Hi - if you are looking to do something yourself at home to get an idea of what you have, before you take it to a shop, you can get a good idea simply with a tape measure and a buddy. ok - i'll see your QJ and raise you a ... thermo-quad. top jetting, spread bore, no heat sink and bigger fuel bowls - what's not to like. If you think the QJ gets hate, it ain't nothing like the TQ! My son is looking to fit early sheet metal to the front of his crewcab, and wants to trade or sell this front to replace with a 73/74 GMC front grille, if anyone is interested. Just need to sort out the shipping ( Ha Ha ).. -
Acquired an 84 K30 parts truck
It all un-bolts, except for around the tailgate cross member. There are a coupe of welds either side that need to be cut out, then it comes apart. @curse - for the OP - depends how "bad" the truck is, and how "good" you want to get it. All show cars ( winners anyway ) have countless hours of custom work in fitting panels and creating perfect seams. They were never like that from the factory.
