What did we do before cup holders? We kept it between our legs and if our driving skills were subpar, well, we looked like we peed ourselves. That's how we did it back in the day, none of this sissified "can I hold your drink for you" nonsense. Lol -

Dumb thought here, but is what's being described a low voltage at idle issue, where when he accelerates the alternator output increases and the fan starts turning perceptively? Not that improper vacuum source is not a problem, but it's weird as described, no? -

Fuel filler issue. This can’t be right.
A variant of the ole potato in the tailpipe thing maybe? I could see how a shop rag, jammed down in the fill tube could cause problems. Gotts get a look and make sure zero restrictions. It had to work prior, right?- Radiohead

Gorilla tape? Remove the unit, clean it up around the hole so tape will stick, tape from both sides. As redneck as it gets and still work. Just taking it off and letting underhood air in won't blow it up. Or give 25 hp.- Radiohead

What are the pressures? If you jumper the low pressure switch on the receiver drier the compressor clutch should engage. Don't run it in a low charge condition for long or the oil won't be moving properly. Off the cuff it sounds like a leak developed, or if recently serviced perhaps over... -
3/4 ton brake line versions

Ha, adjusted the hood latch to where it will latch now. It's never been able to do that before. Still seems sketchy, I need to find a spring to fit where the original one for the hood catch went, that and some cleaning/lube, then its good for another 45 years. The hinges are wobbly and one... -

I'm convinced that the door switches were made just good enough to get past the warranty line. That was a long time ago. I like the schematics out there using a relay to move power around to the motor vs making the light duty contacts on the OE switch do it. But plastic is only so good and OE... -

Me too, which was at the time I bought it, a feature set that I like. Mostly referring to the factory rear swaybar and bb/turbo 400. Discovered the water ingress point in the cab. Which is more disappointing than this And may be the root cause of this And definitely this Which is a little harder to see. The rust, not the tweaker wiring. -
Factory hei distributor and coil
If it works, run it. You're not going to pick up 3 seconds in the ¼ mile changing to a fancy billet distributor with outboard electronics, but you might look cooler at the hoods up parking. But I'm a cheap, grumpy old bastid like that....- Radiohead

Had a look and sure enough, I see similar parts There's a shock in there under the random stuff that probably won't be put back into camper service. Must be remnants of option Z83? I read here somewhere that the 1 tons got the square headlights first and it trickled down from there...
