    Flat beds anyone?

I don't have any pics right now, but this is a general idea of the basics of what I am shooting for.

    Flat beds anyone?

I've got one I am putting together for my 80 K30. Its metal fame with wood bed, but since wood rotted, going to make it diamond plate bed. Since it is opened up already, welding all the braces in for goose neck hitch. Also, making a headache rack that will have stacks up through it...still...

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

Here are the rims I put on my blazer, white letters out. 225/60r15 front, 245/60r15 rear. It is lowered a bit so they fill the wheel well nicely. 10" back, 8" front. Would have to take them off to figure the offset, but originally mocked a tire size piece of signboard , then attached a piece...

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

Reason I thought about widths is my monza's. They have a 7.5 in them and I can swap carriers and axle shafts from the trucks, don't think red blazer was narrow enough. Will check it tomorrow after work.

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

If you want, I can get a pic of what I put on my blazer, white letters are out. Will get the sizes too. Seemed like I remember something about the truck and blazer having slightly different width axle...if so, offset would be different.

Oh, lol. Personally, never liked those rims on anything, was just the cheapest rims you could find in the wrecking yard for my rust bucket hoopties.

Yeah, they fit fine. That is one reason when people do a v-8 swap, the best option is to buy a body damaged iroc or close, can swap almost everything from one to the other for the least cost v-8 conversion.

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

Read this Old77, pretty decent explanation. https://www.discounttiredirect.com/learn/offset-backspace#:~:text=Two%20important%20measurements%20that%20describe,mounting%20surface%20and%20innermost%20lip.

    Old77's 1989 S10 tinkering project

My 92 blazer rwd I'm running 10 in the back and 8 front, different offsets to get them to clear everything. They are 15's. Don't remember exact sizes, but are the widest can fit under without rubbing with a 2" drop.

What new tools have you got lately?

    Quadrajet tuning made easy

I have a special place in my heart for Quadrapukes, lol. Most people only know the wore out crappy ones, but a new quad tuned right is bar-none best sound of secondary's opening. Still have a few of the harder to find 800 cfm carbs and a load of every size jet, hanger and needles I could scrounge.

    Cab swap Questions

In Washington state, we just have it inspected and get a new vin/title when you build a project...as long as you had both titles to begin with. My '73 F250 highboy is that way, frame and drivetrain were '72, got rolled and needed a body. Put a '73 (next body style) rwd body on it with some mount...

Plastic cover over blower mortor. Do I have to remove the inner fender?

Don't actually recall that cover on my chevy's, but on my GMC's for sure.

Plastic cover over blower mortor. Do I have to remove the inner fender?

I've always dropped the inner fender well to get that out, mostly because the bottom bolt is next to impossible to reach without the space.

    295/50/r15 on all four fitment

With that wide of tire in the front, how was tread wear affected? Also, is caster/camber affected by suspension travel since wider footprint?

    ISO Supercharger Help

Honestly, leave that nice clean truck alone! While chargers are nice to have, if it's more of the sound you want, just slip a noisy gear drive in and listen to the whine till you go deaf, lol. If you want to boost something, best it be a weekend driver and get ready to upgrade the rest of the...

    Cab swap Questions

I'm doing the reverse, '89 c30 cab onto '80 K30. Cut the center section around the K30 hump and cover and welding it into the C30 cab since it's a solid hump. Dash, wiring and cluster from 80 fit right in the 89...difference is the wiper switch. 80 has it in dash above headlight switch, 89 area...

    Cab swap Questions

Pretty easy, I would disconnect the steering shaft first, a lot easier to pull through without it connected. I remove the firewall bolts first, then the column cradle bolts, then the wiring. To each his own, lol.
