    ‘91 Suburban A/C Cooling Help

They all appear to be a little narrower, guess I’ll have to order one and see what comes. This one crosses to the ac delco one and appears to be a parallel by the photos...

    ‘91 Suburban A/C Cooling Help

Do you remember the part number of the parallel flow condenser you used? I found AC Delco number 52484151, but they do not appear to be available other than Chinesium versions.

    ‘91 Suburban A/C Cooling Help

I didn’t measure temp at the front of the grill, but with the amount of air flowing in, it did not feel any warmer than ambient.

    ‘91 Suburban A/C Cooling Help

Ok so I went for a ride, mostly 45-65 mph, few stops but not for long. Dash vents I saw a low of 45 and rear just above 50. Granted it’s night time, it’s raining, and ambient temp is about 78, it was getting cold inside. Parked and let the truck idle for a 15 minutes or so and crept up to the...

Up to 53 on the low side and 190 on the high side after getting up to operating temp and a little heat soak. Vent temp dropped to 57 up front and 54 at the rear on the digital.

    ‘91 Suburban A/C Cooling Help

The compressor is not cycling, waiting for a break in the rain to go get the gauges hooked up. Dryer and orifice were replaced each type the compressor died, I have no idea how much oil is in the system as I did not charge it, the shop did.

What temp do you have at your vents sitting idle? Are you running electric or mechanical fans?

    ‘91 Suburban A/C Cooling Help

Sitting in the sun for sure makes it take longer to cool off inside, but I’m just not getting the cold air needed to do it regardless if in the shade or sun. I am already running dual FF Dynamics extreme duty electric fans that come on with the compressor (or by engine temp). It’ll suck a...

    ‘91 Suburban A/C Cooling Help

I’ve got a ball valve on the heater hose, on or off doesn’t seem to make much difference, but I leave it off. Heat is a rare necessity in South Florida as I’m sure it is in Texas! I’ve read a bunch of posts of guys running stock components with good results on 134a, let’s see what the...

    ‘91 Suburban A/C Cooling Help

I’ll be back at the truck tomorrow evening and will check the pressures. It’s a Sanden 508.

    ‘91 Suburban A/C Cooling Help

Need a little help on my 91 suburban with dual air and a 5.3 swapped in. I bought the truck already converted to 134a with an R4 compressor. In the winter it worked ok, but the compressor died two months later. I had it Replaced with a GM compressor, lasted about a month or so and that one...

Thank you! I love working and tinkering on it, it’s been fun. Originally was a big block truck, has 4.10 rear end full float with posi. Added electric fans, Bluetooth retro sound radio, upgraded the headlights with the LMC housings and relay kit, really a nice ride. My first ride was a ‘99...
