    You may not have set one of the springs properly in its' pocket. Not uncommon for these old trucks to vary a bit in ride height from one side to the other. Did you take measurements before installing the spacers? Mine was off a touch, I checked the body mounts and sure enough the driver's side...

    I used a couple of wraps of duct tape to keep the spacer in place on the spring during installation. Use a pry bar to pull the spring out of the upper perch.

    2 or 3" isn't a radical lift. LMC has a 3" body lift kit for $160. Amazon has front/rear shocks for 2/3" lift for $200. I've never done a lift. Gentlemen, what else does this entail?

    I used the spacers to raise it a bit after installing 2.5" drop spindles with 2" lowering springs. Aftermarket springs were weak, front was a bit too low. Spacers worked great.

    225-60-17 has a diameter of 27.6". 275-45-20 comes in at 29.7, so the 20s will be quite a bit taller. Wish I could offer more help.

    My son's truck was making that noise. It was bad wheel bearings. You may have a bad wear pattern that's not readily visible.

    I have a pretty big collection of quart oil cans, all sealed and all metal. The oldest is a glass bottle from the 20's, that one is empty. Yeah, your cans have some value to those who collect them.
