@Blue Ox i have no idea if it has code C6P. It’s not original glove box and I don’t know what the frame modulus is to check that. I was just wondering if there was another way to tell, like the larger brakes you mentioned. Is the HD payload 2800?
This thread was referencing a k20 frame with...
@Radiohead thanks. This thing was pretty stripped down when I picked it up, but definitely no rear sway bar. I am just trying to find out if it meant anything that it has the 13" rear drums, 8 leafs and G brake code. Maybe just optioned that way.
So, did we determine if there is such a thing as the K20 HD? I have the 14SF and 13" brakes and 8 leaf pack. I have the G brake code for 8001 to 9000. According to what I can find a 350 mated to the th400 is the heavier towing package and comes with 4.10s...
Yes, I know the u-bolts *were...
Mine has it, too! I have been trying to find out what it is also. Mine doesn't have cruise, so idk.
Is there an obvious way to tell if you have a camper special without RPO code?
Nice!!
Still getting this thing running, but I'm going to stick with the stock look with dog dish, but I don't know if I'm going to do 16x10, or 17x9. I'm still looking for the front caps, but looks like i'll have to get raped on fleabay.
Flasher problem solved, but of course another gremlin comes out.
1. Hazards on- drive front doesn’t flash
2. With headlights on- you can barely notice flash from rears, but brake lights are a lot brighter.
Bringing this back. So, I know on 81+ the cowl seal attaches to hood, but is there another that attaches to cab & under cowl? I don’t know what this is for.
And is there something to help keep junk out at area between cab, fender and cowl are?
Thanks in advance.
@Jgonick, maybe the new flashers I bought were wrong polarity. Idk. I’m ordering the ones in the video, since they come with the piece to reverse polarity.
Quick question? Are these wires the ones to radio?
I got mine from an Astro van with controller. It's going behind a 500 caddy, but of course I didn't see anything involving ECM flashing and TPS. Anyone mated one up to an older, carbed engine?
The tires are fairly dry rotted, although they keep air. I was going to replace them, so by that calculator, if I go to 33” it looks like it will drop RPMs to 2900. I wonder if that’s even significant. Lol
@totallyhucked that’s awesome, I’m going to try this. Thanks!
Can you even travel on the highway with 4.10s? Like aside from poor mpg, anything to worry about? It has 265/75/16s on it.
Bringing this thread back to life. I don’t have the pro codes in this truck, but according to vin decode, 350/th400, the gears are 4.10s. The rpm’s are really high, even at low highway speeds. Wish there was a way I could verify.
@Jgonick so, with lights off solid on and same with lights on.
Hazards don’t work with electronic flasher in there, but this is the one I am wondering if it got damaged. Im going to buy another one in the morning and check again.
It’s not long enough to go where neutral safety switch is, but there is already a plug there. Not long enough to get to fuse box. Now that I dropped that column to do turn signal switch, I still don’t see an empty spot to plug it.
Oh, and the signal switch didn’t work. Is it possible to ruin...
I’m going to replace the signal switch right now. IDK what else to do & now I have no turn signal lights at all. Both outside and the little indicators inside.
Does anyone know what the purple and yellow wires plug into? Found it loose coming from steering column.
@Jgonick @Randy and Easton thanks, I’ll check over those tomorrow. Any idea why my blinkers stopped working? There was still something wrong before, but all I did was take out cluster and clean contacts.
All lights are led, but I did already switch to led flasjer. I don’t know what else to check.
