    Towing with an old truck

These are 3 different pulls on 3 different hitches. I'd much rather pull the 43' than the 34' in any situation still. The 43' rocks a bit but doesn't sway.

    Towing with an old truck

When you load the WD hitch you'll see the effect in the vehicle suspension. Works great for tall profile trailers as it puts more of the weight back on the trailer axles and helps reduce sway. The dual wheels goes without explanation.

    Towing with an old truck

Unfortunately dad's old C20 Crew with almost 50 years of fighting gravity & 400K miles isn't gonna be hauling much until I can address some spring issues...

    Towing with an old truck

Dually axle trailer without the profile of a camper travel trailer. I'm certain that's a tongue heavy trailer you have but the load is centered over the axles with twice the contact surface area. I'd drag that 70mph wherever.

    Towing with an old truck

Rides better with a load that's loaded or hauled right. Springs & truck do very good from the General. There's no way I'd attempt this with a pintle or 2-5/16 bumper.

    1979 C10 46 Years Young - One Owner

Welcome from Central NC. I have dad's 79 C20 Crew that he bought new. It has logged (no pun intended) 400K plus miles going to numerous logging sites in central & eastern NC. Dad ordered it with a 350 & SM465 with 3.73 out back. He swore he'd get twice the mileage of a 454 automatic truck...

    81 K10 fuse panel layout

I would look somewhere besides the fuse gang for your issue. If you have intermittent starting issues I'd address the ignition starter switch (column mounted) first. This may alleviate your starting & parasitic draw issues in one repair. There are a few methods to check for the parasitic draw &...

    12 bolt Rear axle ratio?

Most are 3.07 ratio. Count the ring & pinion & then divide to see your ratio...which will be 3.07.

Headers and exhaust for a V3500

My boy had a 91 V1500 Sub with the 350 that I did headers & true duals on. It had a 1 wire O2 sensor & I jumpered it & welded a bung on both collectors & it ran great. Yours may have a 454 but should still be the about same setup. HS

    Towing with an old truck

10K lbs & 34' long. No dually truck & no trailer with dually axles. Pulled thru 20 states & 10K miles & very thankful to have weight distribution hitch for bumper pull. Did a bit of I-40, I-70 & I-80 on the western trip to GC. NE was 500 miles of worst driving ever due to wind sheer. I must have...

    Towing with an old truck

Here's my '16 2500HD Max with a 10K 34' tag-along, dismantled '32 deck & 50 pavers & whatever junk would fit in the bed. This is WITH a distribution hitch. I wouldn't attempt to drag all this mess 150 miles home without the hitch. Hs

    Towing with an old truck

Weight distribution will load the suspension thru the hitch. It makes tag-along trailers a much better ride. Just do the Google machine & you'll see. HS

    Towing with an old truck

    Here's my...my dad's C20 Crew pulling a 28' camper in the early 80's. He didn't kill it but from memory it pulled fine. 350/SM465 & 3.73 gears.

    Adhesive Rear Cab Molding?

I'd drill a hole and attach the clip with a screw. I've been here before & now when those brads either fall or rust out & then need replacing. I've had to improvise several for the vinyl roof on my '74 Z28 that I've been working on the last few years. HS

    Should i or shouldnt i?!!

Dad was a logger but scrapped cars on the side. There were many junks in the woods where they were cutting timber often. I remember when he pulled a 67 fastback Galaxie 390 in that I wanted real bad. My 16 year old finances couldn't afford it...but still I wanted it. My daddy told me "it's all...

    V2500 frame compatibility and advice.

I'm putting my 76 High Sierra 15 back together again. I thought about using a CUCV frame that I have but after a bit of thought I realized what kind of punishment & abuse the 76 endured as a plain ole half ton. I'm keeping it Dana44 & 12bolt half ton but swapping in the beloved SM465 and NP205...

Yeah, if I were changing out an entire frame I'd want an upgrade instead of downgrade. Thanks for the chart info. HS

    How hard to go backwards?

    How hard to go backwards?

The floor switch will plug directly into the column harness. You can make you a jumper lead to floor or dash mount the switch.
