Need to replace rubber fuel lines on top of both tanks….

Give those bed bolt nuts a good spray of rust penetrant the day before and have your helper stand on the bolt head while you’re removing the nut with an impact wrench to help them stay put and not spin.….good luck.

Need to replace rubber fuel lines on top of both tanks….

Ricko makes a good argument about the bed bolts. If you get lucky and the 8 nuts all spin off, then also remove the rear bumper and slide it back a foot or two to access the fuel lines and sending unit. If you plan on painting it and a color change, the timing could be right for that too.

What have you done to your square lately??

I’m getting big block fever just seeing all these squares with monsta valve covers hiding large cubic inches.

What have you done to your square lately??

My cowl had 5-6 layers of paint which the citristrip took off about 4. I still had to hand sand but I also used a dremil with the tiny sanding roller which worked well. I primed that last week which will eventually see white paint when I paint the hood. Where does one get the plastic hardware...

What have you done to your square lately??

Yea, probably shouldn’t be in such a hurry but way too many square parts spilling over in my garage, and house. Landscape projects consumed most of the summer and fall. Seeing the frame off projects by others is a head scratcher for me, still in awe when I see and read them. This Frankenstein is...

What have you done to your square lately??

Gonna get a personalized plate, thinking either orngpeel or 20fter, squirted some more orange today. Probably should have done it in the driveway since one bug and a few grains of sand found the wet paint.

What new tools have you got lately?

I converted the electric stove 30 amp circuit to 220 from the breaker box so I could run these. I bought a 50 ft extension chord to reach the driveway. For what I need, these two are more than adequate. Purchased the right size wire, box and thick rubber gloves for the install.

What new tools have you got lately?

Nice! Great cart for the $$, very well built. I use mine for MiG and Tig welders including accessories, wire, tools, etc…. I did have to add a little wheel add on to hold the cylinder gas. I still need to add a few hooks too.

98' Vortec Block, Timing Cover and Balancer Spacing Questions.

Unaware of that issue; I just ran what it came with stock, minus the reluctant wheel, seems to be fine running an edelbrock manifold, carb, and hei distributor. I don’t drive it much so I can’t comment on reliability.

Custom fabric inlays on dash side panels- how to attach fabric?

I’m considering using a vinyl wrap on those three trim pieces. I would like to have scenery type vinyl which I haven’t found yet. I might have to have it custom made.

Searching for My Dad's 1979 Chevy Suburban

Just buy one that is close, tape some pics on the inside of your family’s old square and then build some more memories, I’m sure your family would be honored with that plan. After a few years of driving old metal, you will wonder why you were so driven to do what you did and realize it was...

What have you done to your square lately??

Thanks, actually looks much better than the pictures. A little bit of paint spilled over the edge which I used a razor blade to easily remove.

I’m planning to do something with the hump similarly but still haven’t thought it out completely yet.

What have you done to your square lately??

I already repainted those parts in the picture. The white used to be the dull greenish-yellow GM color.

What have you done to your square lately??

Color changed the emblem, gonna add some orange as well when I get to painting the rest of the fenders and tailgates. I used a disposable plastic eye dropper to move the left over paint from my spray gun disposable cup.

What have you done to your square lately??

Mounted the fenders to draw the two tone and textured lines. Will block sand in preparation for painting after I tape, paper and spray bed liner. Supposed to be warm enough Friday and Saturday before it snows again next week. Added the emblem for the photo.

    Installing tailgate band

I just drilled one last weekend, use a yard stick to pencil draw your straight lines on your tailgate. Drill the first small hole on the far right side, put the trim piece on to confirm location. If it’s lined up, drill larger holes until the final right size. Then measure the center to center...
