What have you done to your square lately??

Sanded the hood, epoxy primer again and the two more coats of high build primer. Also sprayed the tailgate handle and fuel door.

What have you done to your square lately??

Lightly sanded the hood epoxy primer, thin layer of filler, then sanded that mostly smooth. While I was waiting for the filler to harden, I removed some of the heater distribution vents to determine what’s missing and needs repair. The box itself is a little loose so gonna have to tighten the...

What have you done to your square lately??

Brush Painted the floor orange and glued the fire wall insulation to the fire wall. Of course, everything had to get cleaned again. Tangier orange is really safety orange, which I bought a quart from Ace Hardware. No one will see it once I put on sound dead material. You can see the difference...

Opinion thread- 81 silverado grill you like or ?

81-82 grill has a lot of character; I like it so much that I bought one to go with that year’s front bumper.

    Huck's daily - 2005 Z71 crewcab

Right, and adding the challenge of not having a lift so you are laying down in the grass, cement or asphalt. Usually, perseverance finally pays off. Way to stay the course amongst the challenges.

    Stripping paint off instrument panel

I tried citristrip which was too aggressive, it took all the coatings off, pretty much a disaster. I’m considering to sand it smooth and repaint it chrome. IDK, that might be too much effort as well, maybe just buy one and then repaint chrome.

So, where does one get power mirror controls? And how do they get wired up? I noticed that lmc sells a remote control for power locks, anyone ever installed it?

What have you done to your square lately??

Kinda forgot about the PO heater mess but rediscovered while fitting the dash. What should this look like without the 200 mph tape?

    New paint gun

HF actually sells a higher end paint gun and disposable cup system which I purchased and intend to use for primers. I have a lower end Devilbiss which is okay but my best one is the Matco gun which has a lot of extra parts and a lot more versatility. And most importantly, lays down the materials...

    Sagging doors: where to start?

Carefully inspect the pins and brass bushings for wear, worn bushings typically fall out and you can lift up on the door bottom to see the pin moving around. The driver side usually wears more than passenger side. Replace worn parts as needed. The paint looks pretty good so I would tape the...

What new tools have you got lately?

I have the Milwaukee version, much easier than the plug in craftsman version and much lighter than the gasoline version. All three put you at risk of hearing and eye loss so be sure to wear your PPE when using.

    Looking At A 2005 Z71 4x4

My 04 Duramax (50K) has been mostly trouble free with the exception of: stepper motors, rear Bose speaker, rotors rusted because it sits a bunch, clear coat burned off, headliner delaminating; I bought it brand new with the intention of never buying another truck in my lifetime. In the middle of...

Sprayed some leftover hammered silver on the tailgate hardware after an ospho treatment. Brought the fenders and tailgates into the house to finish curing.

    Tahoe/Silverado Bench install

GM? Model? The seat placement in your picture looks nearly identical to the seat picture in the next post so not sure how you can improve on it. I would assume better foam in the newer seat.

    1980 Door Speakers

Honestly, I don’t really see the infatuation with the whole stock oem thing and the none bleed pricing. A lot of the older stock oem stuff doesn’t look good or function well, worthless garbage like those speakers for $860. $600 cheap plastic door panels and waiting for years, they probably cost...
