What have you done to your square lately??

If the big man upstairs happens to like the dark blue color, I think he will forgive you, lol.

New steering pump and still leaks power steering fluid. Do I need a different pump or Lucas stop leak?

Nope. But if the cap is the culprit, it won't do anything for that.

Searching for My Dad's 1979 Chevy Suburban

@TheHoundsman if you buy new trim rings, DO NOT get chrome ones. Make sure to get stainless steel like the original GM trim rings. If you get the cheap chrome ones, the steel ones will rust in short order and the plastic ones will chip and/or turn green-ish after a while.

There's still quite a few old style junkyards in the central Ohio area. Are you looking for one with a narrow snorkel, fat snorkel? Does it need to have a Thermac?

No, but you should be able to get an Allen head machine screw that is equivalent in size at your local hardware store. I should say an actual hardware store... not Lowe's.

Help with rim purchase for lifted 78' K10

4" backspacing works fine. This is 4" BDS springs, 16x8 wheels and 305/70 tires.

And yeah, that looks to be a 4" lift.

Searching for My Dad's 1979 Chevy Suburban

Your stock wheels are zero offset, or about 4" backspacing. If you go with a wider wheel, you will want to stick to right around 4" backspacing.

Has anyone bought the Summit Racing AlumaRally Wheels 17s?

I was just looking at these, in the 8-lug version. My van needs tires, so I kind of want to go to 17" for greater tire selection.

looking for place to buy black wheels with trim for 4wd

I suggest looking for wheels at Summit Racing. Their website is absolutely fantastic for wheel searching. You don't have to search by vehicle, you can narrow your results by diameter, width, backspacing, bolt pattern, etc. You can literally search by any or all parameters. Then you can even sort...

    78 K30 4BD2T Frame Off Build

Dang, I really liked the look of the 16" bias plies that came with the rig, lol. Is this little Isuzu engine a variant of the big 7.8l 6 cyl, just with two less cylinders? Also, it looks like the front of the oil pan has been modified?

    Temp gauge not reading

I'm wondering if you haven't been buying temp senders, but rather temp switches? If a temp switch (for just an idiot light cluster) is used, the gauge won't read anything until the engine is overheating. Parts store listings suck these days, so it wouldn't surprise me if the wrong part has been...

Looking to buy our first 6.2

Yes, I realize that too. Just because a manufacturer designs something for a specific use, doesn't mean that it doesn't work in other applications just as well. Just about every car and truck enthusiast uses parts and tools for something that they were not designed for, often with a good...

    Carb Adapter

I'd be inclined to do the same. You'll still need an adapter, but it's a combo that should work well.

Looking to buy our first 6.2

Yes, I realize that. But in the real world of daily driving, offroading and towing heavy loads, the 285/75 works perfectly fine on a GM 6.5" width rim. Road manners, heat buildup and tire wear is not an issue, assuming it's not the front end of a wore out truck. It's a tire/wheel combo that has...

    Carb Adapter

No, just an aftermarket intake with an open or split/open plenum design that is meant for use with a spread bore and square bore carburetor. Otherwise an adapter would be needed. While that AVS2 has different sized bores, it essentially is still a square bore carburetor.

Most (if not all?) 3/4 ton Suburbans have 56" rear springs. How many leaves are in your m1008 packs? Iirc, my set has 9 and I'm going to use them as-is in my Suburban. My other Suburban has 8-leaf packs from an '83 C30 and they ride pretty similar to the 5-leaf 52's that were originally...

Howdy from Ohio! We are focused primarily on the full size trucks here, but many of us here are fans/owners of the S10 line and also the vans of the era too. You can find a lot of help here for the TBI injection, as it is the same basic setup that was used in the full size trucks. Please feel...
