Yes, the C20 crew cab is literally a C30 but with slightly lighter springs.

    1964 Chevy ll ls1/t56 swap

Personally, I'd save cosmetic bodywork and paintwork for last. Just do the underside surgery first and put it all together and get everything gapped and fitting well. Then do the engine and drivetrain. The reason being that it's hard not to screw up the body and paint while doing all the...

    Which dually - 8.1 vs pre-DEF 6.6?

Oh, I forgot to elaborate on the finicky Duramax PCM thing. I have no idea how many times I've been pulling a load down the highway and I've lost all power and had to pull off the side of the road, clear random fault codes, then get back along my way. It's always some stupid pidly little...

    Which dually - 8.1 vs pre-DEF 6.6?

What is the torque rating on the 6.6? I have done A LOT of heavy towing with '03, '05, '06 and '07 Duramaxes. They pull good and they are relatively reliable. Fuel mpg in the real world is NOT what all the diesel guys brag about. They have a very finicky pcm and can cause some very annoying...

Lol, I can't keep track of which car or truck has which engine. So you've got the engine that was in your dad's truck and you've got the gold engine from your K10. And then that long block that I brought down to you. What's the current status?

    Finally got a running 65 C10

The older heads used a larger spark plug. The change happened in '70 I think.

    What year bed is this

Your picture just reminded me that there was also a change in the construction of the fuel doors. I don't know what year that happened. Sometime before '84 I believe.

    '79 Camaro Restomod

Today I set out to determine if driveline angles are good enough. Without knowing that, I didn't know if the trans crossmember needed lowered or not. My brain wasn't working good enough to comprehend the angles I was getting, so I decided to cut down the original driveshaft so I could install...

    '79 Camaro Restomod

Dead project thread revival coming... If finally reached a point where I can get working on this car again. Our move a few years ago just killed everything. But anyway, I did some test fitting with my mockup wheels. They are 17x11, with a 315 tire. As it turns out, my axle AND springs are...

Best way to transport 19 55 gallon barrels?

Seen that a time or 50 in Ohio. I haven't towed anything with our '00 Burb in a few years because the hitch and bumper are severely "weight reduced".

Are you the original owner of them? Gas doors didn't come along until '79.

    OEM cylinder head castings - 1977 K10

Because they don't say "Hecho en Mexico" on them like the Goodwrench engines did. Iirc, the older Target master engines were made in Mexico too, but not positive on that.

    OEM cylinder head castings - 1977 K10

Welp, nevermind. Despite being the original late '76 block, the heads are late '72 castings and definitely aren't 882's.

    OEM cylinder head castings - 1977 K10

    I just remembered I have a '77 K10 350 sitting on a stand. I'm betting on 882's. I'll report back.

    OEM cylinder head castings - 1977 K10

Yeah, most likely would have been the 882 casting. They were very common and were supposed be "the best of the large chamber smog heads". I'd say that's fancy talk for "the best of the worst heads". I've ran a couple sets on mild engine builds and the performance was pretty good, considering the...

    Frame & undercarriage advise!

I had bought a couple cans of it, but kept forgetting to hose down my van with it like I intended. I guess I'll just use it inside the doors and rockers now. I like the looks of that RP 342 stuff.

What have you done to your square lately??

All the local HVAC supply places won't sell me nuthin'. Literally nothing at all because I'm just a DIYer. I only needed a draft inducer motor, not even anything refrigerant or propane related. I had to buy from some random place online.

    OEM cylinder head castings - 1977 K10

Depends on what engine. If a 350 or 400, they likely would have been an 882 head.
