I have 2 different 3/4 ton Chevy hubcaps that I want to trade for GMC caps. These are in good shape. I have an 84 Sierra so would need the 6 stripe ones
My 84 Sierra has an aftermarket 350, and it's black. Having a replacement 350 and having my mechanic paint it GM blue. I found some on Amazon so I bought 2 cans. Duplicolor DE1609. $12.98/can. I know it's not right but I want something other than Black, or Orange. I'll post a pic of the can.
Man, what a great article and video. I don't have my truck at home right now, but going to make me one of these "tools" and keep it in the glove box. I have access to welding wire so will talk my welding guys into a piece, lol.
I used orange painters masking tape. Put it on the back of the band, marked the holes then transferred it to the tailgate. I have a Chevy band but put GMC SIERRA emblems from a 93 Sierra on it
Years ago, a friend had a bed liner business. I had him do the gas tank on my 65 Chevy II and the underside of the hood on my 65 Suburban. Saved a lot of rock damage on the tank.
I'm using the blue pex tubing. Got tons of it from work as we use it for the bars on our excursion train. When we get any cars, I get all I need as it gets thrown away anyways
Here's my "wish I was a true GMC grille" . It's an 84-85 Chevy grill that I painted the letters on. I know it's not the right color for the letters but it's good enough for my daily driver. On another subject I only have these 3 hex head screws on the bottom. Next/behind the bezel there is a...
Woohoo! Hopefully the single light versions won't be far behind. I saw this last night while online. They're out of stock but will let me know when they come back in. They're the single light versions without provision for letters.
I bought a generic 85 grill for my 84 GMC with the single headlight, and Classic Industries shows the 83-84 single light bezel fits both Chevy and GMC. Anyone else done this swap on their 83-84 GMC since those grilles aren't made.....yet?
Have you heard something? I found an 81 grill in one of my catalogs, Classic Parts, I believe I'm going to get. My 84 grille is only held on with the 2 screws on top and a lot of metal duct tape
My 84 came with 235 85R16's on it yet I find vendors telling me they won't sell me them that it's supposed to have the 215 85R16. My door placard says otherwise(235 85R16)
Check FB Marketplace. I found one for $50 in Prescott. Also check your local used car dealers. I found an 80's metal one in the back lot. They never mention them so ask.
