Welcome Spain. Nice trucks. I spent time in Spain working at the ASCO Nuclear station, I think we stayed near the beach at Hospitalet de l’Infant. It was always nice to see American cars and trucks on the road. Many were vintage and in fair condition.- WFarm

Doppelgänger, you can buy Odyssey batteries on line or at Autozone stores. Bought mine at the local Autozone. They do not have them on display but are in the back on the shelf so you have to ask. At least that’s how it is at this Autozone. Heavy battery. Mine was right at 50 lbs which I figured...- WFarm

It’s pretty clean! 1987 Sierra Classic, 350 tbi, 700R4, 8’ bed. Driven on dry days. Original paint except for hood. No rust. I posted some info and pics on the “What did you pay for square” thread, but here are a few. Still waiting on dash kit from USA-1.......ordered it in July!- WFarm

The wife calls me The Researcher, lol. I did a lot of reading before selecting the Odyssey battery and it seemed clear that Optima was once an excellent battery, but something changed. It’s probably no coincidence the change corresponds to the buyout and moving manufacturing to Mexico...- WFarm

USA-1 Seat Covers
When I ordered my dash they told me upfront 12-16 weeks, which would have been late November. But OK, it’s not like I can’t drive it in the meantime. I asked them about seat covers. They said 8 weeks as again, they are made to order. -

I have taken it to a local shop that was recommended and the cost is comparable to the cost of the seat covers from USA-1, but with a 3-4 week lead time. -

Removed my factory bed rails and sent the 4 end pieces off for re-chroming as I have not been able to find NOS or repro pieces. I had previously painted the wood grain black as I never thought wood grain went with the rest of the truck. -

Vent window handle replacement
Decided to replace my wobbly and pitted vent window handles today with a kit ordered from Classic Industries. What a difference! Tight and shiny just like new. I do not hear real good but I can notice less air noise while driving now. The kit included extra parts, but kept track as I removed... -
