    Beautiful evening for a Cruise In! Dusted the truck off after a day of Flea Markets and hauling horse feed and bedding and headed to a local event. Lots of really nice cars but my Square was the best! (OK, I may be a tad partial, lol)

    Today I received my new grill and headlight bezels from LMC and installed them. Love it! Although I’m a fan of just about anything chrome plated!

    Rainy day fun. Changed oil and filter (no April Fools oil this time lmao) and gave it a wax job since planning to find a Cruise-In somewhere tomorrow night.

    I’ve always loved the old Mobil stuff with the Pegasus or gargoyle. Would love to have a big, original Pegasus horse but they are a fortune if you can find one. Restored this old Gilbarco pump several years ago.

    Today I made my motor great again, Bahahaha. After that exhausting effort I installed new transformers in my neon shop clock and got it working like new again.

    Since it was on the lift for the starter replacement I spent some time cleaning the underside and inner sheet metal. Nice way to spend a rainy morning. Now the underside is cleaner than the top side,lol. In the one photo the 57 Chevy looks put out that the truck is on *his* lift. Bahaha

    Installed a mini high torque starter and added an insulating wrap. Did the same thing a few years back for the 383 Stroker in the 57 Chevy to fix the heat soak/hard hot start issue and have had no problems since so hopefully this will help the squarebody too.     My 1987 R1500 with 350tbi and TH700 Auto has a starter mounted with staggered bolts. It also appears to have an unused tapped bolt hole for mounting the starter with in-line bolts? Can starters using either mounting arrangement be used?

    Radiator Cap question

    My existing radiator cap seal is worn and weeps at pressure. It is an AC Delco RC-36 cap. All the replacements I find are RC-27 caps. Anybody know what cap originally came on a 1987 Sierra Classic 350tbi? Is there any difference between the 36 and 27 caps? Both are 15 psi.

    My truck had this non-functional, steel cowl induction style hood on it when I bought it. Seemed strange for a truck but I can live with it until it’s time to paint. My question is were these hoods strictly after market, or were they a factory or dealer option?

    Found mine on eBay after a bit. Good condition but as you see I had the end brackets re-chromed. Also bought a mounting kit that had the correct gaskets and fasteners off eBay.
