Project is stalled. Cannot solve brake problem
It was like 11 hours and the third post (including the original) from the OP. For a new guy to the forum, and likely new to converting brake system styles, not that big a deal. When I was new to brake systems, I didn't know that manual brake rods were almost always in a different spot. -

Planning my Suburban build - Advice wanted
Mine is my rough and tumble family hauler. You can get in a lot of places with just bombing on 31s. Throw the sawzall at it and ship it on whatever wheels. I'd suggest getting the fender flares done AFTER you're happy with the wheel size and everything.- Tonimus

Go for it. Most of what you're talking about is preference anyway. And what you want is all that matters. *I* prefer to retain mechanical linkages for steering. I was never into big stuff or rock crawling. Just mud bogging and trails with 35s. I've busted too many hoses to want to do hydraulic...- Tonimus

I'd be willing to bet as others have stated, your throw is wrong. Check out this ebay listing for a picture. When I went from power to manual on my camaro, the brake was set up the same way as the pic in the ad. https://www.ebay.com/itm/286078581427 I drilled out the stud for the pushrod... -
350 bearings questions
If they're not factory sized bearings, any reputable shop that oversized the rods/main caps or undersized the crank would have marked them as such. I would also think there'd be some sort of .010 or similar notation in the bearing.- Tonimus

Seat foam for buddy buckets?
I found a 24" x 82" x 4" sheet of 2.5# foam locally for like $110. And that was just the first place I called. Looks like an electric knife and some foam is in my future. -

Joann seems to only have 1.6# density stuff. I may try it anyway. As far as the covers go, I was going to try to sew my own using them as a pattern. -
Looking At A 2005 Z71 4x4
I believe the 2005 was the last year or next to last year that did NOT come with DOD. I'd drive the hell out of that truck. Powertrains go forever. Even if the frame rots out, the drivetrain would be great for a swap.- Tonimus

Ryobi 18v jumper box theories?
A 4s lipo has a "nominal" charge of 14.8V. Full whack is 16.8v. A dead battery will rapidly bring that voltage down. You can get a halfway decent 4s lipo, charger, and battery clamps for about $100. Full disclosure, I have jumped my 2016 buick with a Ryboi 18v battery directly. Jumped my 2010...- Tonimus

If I'm seeing it correctly, you should be able to source springs pretty easily. They're called torsion springs. Again, if I'm looking at the diagram properly. -

What have you done to your square lately??
My buddies thought my oil leak may have been the fuel pump, so I threw a new Delphi pump at it yesterday. Put a few miles on it to verify it's not dead out of the box. Seems to work good. Now to degrease the engine bay and hit the freeway at 75 to see if she still leaks. -

Alright. $25 worth of scrap and the project is done. Here's the front mount: It's 1.5" angle and 9/16" rod. The rods sit back 2.25" from the bolt holes in the floor and about 4" up off the floor. This allows for enough room for the seats to still fold forward behind the second row! Fully... -
