    Wiring Harness? Choosing one?

If most of the connectors are good or you can be replaced with something else you have on hand, you could use one of the universal kits. Those are also excellent kits and are way cheaper due to the lack of connectors.

    Wiring Harness? Choosing one?

Keep in mind that I'm a cheap son of a gun, too. The wiring harness in my race car is basically the cheapest AAW kit you can get. But I did their kit in my '84 C30 when I had it and that was one of the easiest kits I've done. And I've done too many.

    Wiring Harness? Choosing one?

Not sure what you were seeing, but I see the $1,016 at Classic Industries. https://www.classicindustries.com/product/1985/chevrolet/k30/parts/510706.html The classic update kit is mostly plug and play and replaces nearly everything. It's a nice kit and worth the extra money, IMHO.

    Which aftermarket LED headlights?

I put these in my '78. https://a.co/d/hHU4LKU I had to shim the back out a little as the new rims are slightly thinner than the old ones and the trim ring didn't clamp down properly. For the price, I was more than happy to do it. As far as the LED bulb, I use the Auxito branded H4 bulbs. I...

Suburban Power Tailgate with new motor mod

I had no idea prior to this. Trap for new gamers? Might have saved the last motor gear if it hadn't been fighting so hard.

Suburban Power Tailgate with new motor mod

A pair of pliers and a strong arm. Put a bolt through a hole in the regulator to hold the arms in place.

    TH400 Yoke Bolt Came Out

I'll start with story time. Sunday, I'm driving home, doing 75 on the freeway. Suddenly I feel a slight vibration, like a tire going down. Throw the signal on and I get the hell over and work my way to the next exit. The slower I get, the worse the vibration gets. Then it seems like the tire is...

Suburban Power Tailgate with new motor mod

Probably. I got an eBay one. Cardone doesn't do them anymore. I didn't call GM, but it looks like most everything is the same chinese junk I got on eBay.

Suburban Power Tailgate with new motor mod

If anyone has installed a "new" window motor in the tailgate of their Suburban, you may have noticed that there is very little engagement between the motor gear and the regulator gear. I think the motor gears and motor mount standoffs are just a little wrong. I cut 1/8" off of the motor...

    C20 to c10

We converted a '72 C20 to modern 6 lug stuff. What we ended up doing for the front was we got a ball joint reamer and reamed the 1/2 ton lowering spindles to fit the 3/4 ton suspension. Worked fantastic.

Bench seatback foam from LMC - anyone else installed it?

Is it a different density than the main section? Other than that, I don't know why there'd be separate sections.

    Whats your opinion these welders?

I have the Titanium Unlimited 200. It's a great hobby level welder. I use a Millermatic 220 at the shop. I can do most of the same MIG work with the Titanium as the Millermatic, but also do TIG and stick. The only "major" downside is the duty cycle compared to the Millermatic. But I don't lay...

What have you done to your square lately??

I read it somewhere. If I can’t find it again, I’ll draw up something. Maybe open up the tailgate and snap a pic or two.

What have you done to your square lately??

Just the eBay one. I used a bandsaw and took 1/4” off of the standoffs for better engagement of the gears. The “upgrade” was really adding more turns to the spring on install.

What have you done to your square lately??

Re-redid the window regulator. Added another turn to the support spring. It was a PITA, but it works really well now.

    FS Door Locks

$10 to cover shipping for a pair of door locks and 3 keys. One key the head is kinda messy. These are well used, but functional. Comes with horseshoe clips. One lock has a little overspray on it, but scratches off with a fingernail.

    Grounding an Ignition control module!

Aluminum is still conductive. I believe the MSD modules with extra grounds have extra functions that require more stability.

    Grounding an Ignition control module!

A ground wouldn't hurt, but the distributor clamp grounds it to the intake. Bolts ground the intake to the heads, and again to the block.

What have you done to your square lately??

Put new rollers on the window regulator, new window motor, new key switch. Next is to put relays in there, but it works again!

    Good ball joint brands

Moog "Problem Solvers" and Mevotech TTX stuff is great. The Moog Problem Solvers aren't always listed like that. Sometimes they say "metal gusher bearing". Been a while since I've even seen the plastic bushing Moogs. I have personal experience with both balljoints. I usually end up with Moog...
