Thanks. I have seen those before it just didnt click i guess, i was picturing a regular metal tank not the custom fab type.

    Brakes still dont work.

Why did you pull the original one in the first place?

    Brakes still dont work.

This is very sound advice. Get the rear brakes adjusted up properly. Don't matter if the adjusters are out a different amount, could be a lot of reasons and none of them matter. Once the rear brakes are adjusted properly you should have a good brake pedal. If you still have a soft pedal...

1982 C30, idea for active triple tanks, not just a transfer tank.

Yes you can wire and plumb 2 pollack switches to work just as you discribed. The instructions in the box even show how to set it up for one valve or two or at least they use to. I've never seen them either so I'd love to see some pic of them.

    starter rebuilding - advice needed

Thanks for the info. I haven't done squat. Life has been throwing me curve balls left and right for over a year now. I still have the original starter and might still rebuild it one day.

    700r4 & Edelbrock TV Bracket

I made my bracket from a combination of an oem manifold bracket and a cheapie aftermarket bracket. I just cut them and welded them together in in order to get the proper geometry for the cable with the edelbrock carburetor.

    Sliding Window Restoration Tips Please?

Well it worked for me anyway and my slider is still going strong. The rubber / silicone thing you mentioned, You could probably get away with some kind of sealant where you are talking about, but generally it's urethane used on glass not silicone, of course I realize we are talking about a rear...

    LE9 305 w ESC Performance upgrades '86 k5 Blazer

I can confirm that the ESC module is located behind the glove box. The best access is to clear out your glove box and remove the box itself. I would advise against any kind of a bypass or elimination of the ESC, like the bypass loop mentioned in the post above this one. It's fine if you want...

How to rehab a window regulator manual or power

Thank you. There isn't any real magic to adjusting the regulator. Other folks have already given you good advise on the regulators, but also make sure those reproduction regulators aren't binding when they are under a load. Is it just as hard to roll down as it is up?

    LE9 305 w ESC Performance upgrades '86 k5 Blazer

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I "think" that the people who remove their ESC and feel the truck runs better must have had an ESC system that was performing terribly before removing. Because a properly functioning ESC is what's best or at least it was for me. I got my truck with a...

Swapping out OEM distributor with HEI distributor

I haven't the time to read though the entire thread or to dig up my old thread and link it, but ya for my truck the ESC needs to be there for it run with any kind of power and get the best gas mileage it can.

    Double Dingo's 1991 Jeep Cherokee

I'm glad you got the charging system sorted on your Jeep. I still don't think mine charges right at idle, but mine is internally regulated in the PCM and I'm pretty sure that's where the issue is. Since the Jeep is on back up duty now I'm ok with it as is since it keeps the battery up. Sorry...

Strong recommendation for Rob (SirRobyn0) at Luke's Redmond Automotive in Redmond, WA

You were patient with me as well when the timeline got off. I'm glad you learned from it. Explaining things and going over one thing at a time is part of the process on older rigs like this where the owner cares a great deal about the truck. Ya, your a bit far. Your welcome to hit me up in a...

Strong recommendation for Rob (SirRobyn0) at Luke's Redmond Automotive in Redmond, WA

Thanks Rob, I want to make a couple of quick comments here. First off ALL forum members get 10% off plus freebees at the shop. So in Rob's case he got 10% off and then I spent an hour and half plus materials sorting out the vacuum lines on the truck and getting the charcoal canister hooked up...

    Soon to be new member…

Thanks for bringing me into your thread. She's a nice truck for sure! Looks like a real score! I can attest to your suspicion being true. There use to be a lot of the mid-70's Chevy's around to, and a lot of medium duties in farm use. Got to drive a 65 C60 for a harvest during the pandemic...

    Vacuum hose routing

sorry @DoubleDingo I should have seen this post sooner, but have been MIA a lot lately do to personal reasons. I actually really like being pulled back in as it's a good distraction from the bad stuff. It doesn't matter. They are just switches on or off regardless of top or bottom vacuum...

    2003 Acura MDX

Installed. Comes in and out in just a minute or so, of course if I ever have to bolt the seats back in that would take a little longer. Since it's just the two of us, that shouldn't be much of an issue and if we need to go somewhere with friends we still have the van. Perfect, lots of space...

    2003 Acura MDX

Ok carpet wrap for the floor board is done, check it out. I didn't have any tan on hand so I went with black. Given the black mats in the car I think it's ok. Here it is freshly done. I glued the carpet to the board with DAP contact cement, wrapped it around to the underside and stapled...

    2003 Acura MDX

It's time for some updates! About a month of so ago we took the MDX on a weekend trip to Bellingham, about 100 miles from home, so not very far really. It did ok. We had some issues having enough space inside for 2 adults and 2 great danes. Last weekend we took a trip to Clarkston, Wa...

Remove accessories from this old truck?

I'd leave them on. Heck I spent a could of years looking for a decent set of used running boards of that style. I finally did find a set. If you do decide to remove them don't trash them, sell them to someone that likes them. But still my vote is leave them on. I think it pulls the look of...

Power steering fluid .. what type ?

I suppose it is. A guy I use to work with was a fan of the older 70's and early 80's Ford pickups, he had a green F100, and we'd trade insults back and forth in a joking fashion. He might say something like, "oh, your replacing valve cover gaskets, got to love rounded cylinder head mating...
