Daughters ‘87 needs to ride smooth.
My memory of those trucks seems to be different from most of you. The 2wd square bodies were usually pretty smooth riding. What could this random tube attached to the exhaust be?
It almost looks like a poorly fabricated heat riser. The truck originally had a heat riser that ran from the exhaust manifold straight up to the neck of the air intake duct of the air cleaner. Maybe the Previous Owner was trying to recreate that?- Redfish

I don't think you understand how the spacer is built. The spacer would have its own studs. The existing wheel studs use conventional lug nuts to hold the spacer onto the drum. The spacer has its own studs that you then use as you normally would. I do not advocate using spacers when you...- Redfish

Well, these things have an O2 sensor and with the smog pump not pumping air into the exhaust manifolds you may have some issues. On my '87 I started replacing everything that was electronic that could affect the motor since all of it was original to 1987. The knock sensor helped. The MAP...- Redfish

What is your timing set at? Did you unplug the magic wire to set the timing? Is your knock sensor working correctly? The MAP sensor? The '87 TBI 350 is rated at 210 horsepower...but some say that's optimistic. My '87 is a shortbed 4WD with the 4 speed manual and 3.42 gears, 33x12.50 mud...- Redfish

Yes. Tire quality has more effect on balancing that the rim quality. Mostly because the tire is further from the center and any weight differences have a greater effect further from the middle/center of rotation.- Redfish

I am not trying to make this worse for you but I am running 33x12.50 mud grips and they don't need that much weight. If you have that much lead on that wheel something is wrong.- Redfish

I got my window motor from O'Reilly's Auto Parts. I just checked and they stock Dorman regulators which are about as close to OE as I have found. They are around $62 here, close to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I don't know if you have O'Reilly's up where you live but they can usually get anything...
