Started right up after priming the carb. OK, so I cheated by rebuilding the carb, setting valves, retiming the engine, but, with only a vacuum advance hooked up, and the stock air cleaner. Nothing going to any of the 4 Ported vacuum switches and all the junk removed from the valve cover. Engine...- justhorns

Engine ready for start after... lots. The only vacuum hose is to the vacuum advance, straight from carburetor. Will be adding a few more systems, but haven't started the engine yet, and a lot of dialing in to do. Nothing hooked to any ported vac switches. Will get the engine started and then...- justhorns

What have you done to your square lately??
Almost ready to start.. After Valve adjust, new side cover seals, rebuilt carb, new plugs (broke the old ones?), some paint and cleaning, removing a bunch of emission stuff. Update. Runs great. Valves are quiet, carb is perfect, No emissions left, no leaks. -

Engine reassembly without some emission stuff... Now I work on a new vacuum diagram. -

Just a little paint and things start to look nice! I plan on plugging all the extra emission holes in the valve cover, for now, tilll I replace this head with an early head. I'd like to cut these valve covers to remove the humps, but not until I prove that the new emissions setup works OK. -

I have found a new one of those and ordered it. Ebay. The other orange unit I cannot find. yet. It is in good condition and who knows, it may work. If its not bypassed by my changes.- justhorns

I have 70 years of all sorts of tools from everywhere. My favorite is presently OTC. -

I think I need at least one "TVS", that has a broken off port. How do I identify these and where can you get them? The blue one is broken, the orange may be OK, but probably replace at the same time.. If we can get em. I have confirmed the EFE valve does work.- justhorns

Rebuilt the carb on my 250 - 6. Its the original Rochester. Had tags that it was rebuilt by rochester, and Holley on it. The rebuild went fine until final assembly. Took about 30 minutes to assemble, until "the hard part". Getting all the damn rods and itty bitty circular clips back on and in... -

What new tools have you got lately?
Made this one myself. $6.79 in hardware at Ace. 4"X5/16 bolts, 2 nuts per bolt, 2 washers per bolt. Its a universal carburetor stand. -

The new plugs fit!. You kinda gotta ram em in after the threads start, but... These are 1" long. You can see how far they go in.. Again, these are ¾-16. The hole was ¾-18 just because so you don't do this. Adjusted the (engine intake and exhaust) valves also. Easy peezzy So this means I'm gonna...- justhorns

So, my plan is to make it look like its therefor the next time we have to look under the hood. In three years. Maybe, maybe knot.. But these kids have no idea. Sorry for the rant above. The hole in the heads to plug is ¾-18. I have ¾ -16 bolts coming to plug.- justhorns

Crank pulley thread size for 3 holes.
I tapped the three holes to ⅜-16 I'm able to turn crank easily now with 3 temp bolts inserted. Excuse the bother, but between my back and my knees I just have trouble getting down there. I have work to be done before the surgery.- justhorns

Crank pulley thread size for 3 holes.
I want to rotate my engine by hand, and wish to put bolts in two of the three crank pulley holes, and then use a screwdriver to rotate the engine. What is the bolt and thread size of those three bolts. My case is an 81 250-6 but I think all of the non bolted pulleys are the same. My crank pulley...- justhorns

Stripped off the vacuum hoses and exhaust ************ pipes. Gonna try a standard valve adjustment. Engine is solid. All plugs are great, Starting to look better. Almost all of the pipes will go away for now. except distributor vacuum advance. Looking better already.- justhorns

New power steering hoses. Had to have high pressure hose custom made because parts houses didn't have a clue for the 6 cylinder
