It was a bad ground on one front turn signal on my truck. Fixed sound and fixed the issue. My problem was exactly the same as yours.

    ALWAYS.......... Never fails !

I recently had knee replacement, and they gave me one of those old person reach grabber things and its great for getting those damn tools that do roll out of reach. Its now a permanent part of the garage tools and up there on top! I'll post a photo later in the new tools thread.

    O'Reilly sux balls !!!

I worked at Napa for a few years. Yes, the kids I was working with had no clue about working on cars. But, I still use NAPA for some of my parts because they have them HERE. They do stupid things like decreasing stock of older car parts (which I don't like). They now say the parts are in stock...

    O'Reilly sux balls !!!

If you keep buying only from cheap places, the auto parts stores will vanish. Then, the online stores will just mark it up more. Support your local auto parts stores..Sorry.

What have you done to your square lately??

Here is the resistance of my 250-6's ignition wires, new and old (on right). I used my milwaukee meter, which is pretty accurate. As you can see, the longer wires have higher values than the short ones. I think this tells me my old wires (each being ac Delco) were OK.

What new tools have you got lately?

Home depot having close out of Klein Tools. So I went to see if I needed anything. Found a 5 bit mini ratchet and a REALLY nice 14 in 1 screwdriver, that extends, you can hit with a hammer to drive things, 13 bits and a removable shaft that adjusts SOLIDLY to three positions. 1/3 rd off, so $15...

What have you done to your square lately??

New ignition module and wires. More to come later. I ran resistance of all the ignition wires new and old to see if any were bad, and see if you can see how long the wire is by its resistance. None of my old wires were bad. will post numbers on resistance shortly. Wires are standard Delco.

What have you done to your square lately??

A friend is looking for a vehicle after his truck (a 2017 Silverado)got totaled by hail. Sunday he showed up with a 2017 ford explorer full blown cop car. Lights, antennas, cages full blown cop car. He say what do you think? Good shape. 62000 miles. A few weird codes. On the way back to...

Jegs Wiring harness versus Painless Wiring Harness

I've rewired 10-20 cars and the only harness I will use is american auto wire. The quality of the wire and the fuse box is just better. They do expect you know how to wire a car and how 12V works.

    Careful buying online- Camaro 1979

I always allow $2000, and now $3000 for any used car purchase even ones that are presented honestly. I have $3500 now in my square that I paid $1000 for. But when sellers outrageously lie, leave large blobs of bondo flowing out through holes under the car I get sick for my customers. It’s just...

    Careful buying online- Camaro 1979

I'm sorry. I try to keep any customer cars posted anonymous. This car is distinctive and others would recognize it possibly. So, no more pictures for now. I'm not accusing anybody of anything other than a flipper. No, the customer had no clue what he was getting into. His bill will approach...

    Careful buying online- Camaro 1979

I work on classic cars. Recently, a customer brought me a 1979 Camaro that he had purchased on facebook marketplace.. or whatever. Not a z28, but, a base car that was loved, put away to rust, restored, and sat for 3 years, by what the new owner got from the previous. First thing I did was get...

What have you done to your square lately??

Timing and carb adjusted. At about 85,000 miles in 40 years. It's running like new again. Of course, I gave it the full Vice Grip Garage rebuild treatment.

What have you done to your square lately??

After a top end rework and carb rebuild plus... and 6 weeks off for installation of a new knee, the truck had a few minor issues. 1 Clutch making grinding feeling on up/down, and 2 throttle sticking... Fixed both with pb blaster. Will grease properly soon. All fixed. Continued to more carb and...

    Cup Holder

Dude- Where is your gas tank. Are you sitting on it? I don't think the cup holder is a major consideration. You go thirsty.

    Cup Holder

Being the LMC version i got is too small to hold an average drink cup, I really like the metal one as the holes look bigger. Who cares about crashing a square body.. They are not on par with new cars for safety by any stretch of the imagination. Cept they got lots of crumple zones. If you want...

Here's one for the Holley/Eddy debate...

I’m here in denver. We are at 5780 feet elevation at my house. Drive down to CO spring which is a little higher at 6000 feet. Drive into the mountains to the start of the course and you are at approximately 9200 feet. THEN YOU START TO DRIVE UP THE BIGGEST DAMN MOUNTAIN to the top. You can...

    1978 K20 Gas Gauge

I’d start with the instrument in the dash, because it’s easier to get at. You will need a basic knowledge of electrical circuits. Gas gauges are very simple. A coil working against a spring. There is a lot of conflicting info on the internet because there a lot of dumb;()s. You either figure out...

Here's one for the Holley/Eddy debate...

Holley (MSD) has bought Quickfuel, Demon, and others. Edelbrock will soon be the only other. Holley is pushing their fuel injection, and I feel the way they are buying up the entire automotive aftermarket to own it. Soon, emissions requirement will outlaw carburetors for a good part. They will...
