Short version- I did a front brake job, and all the (3) hoses.. Long version- 1981 C10 6 cylinder, approximately 80,000 miles. Fullly documented service records since new (in its carfax), no mention of brakes ever. All brakes look good front and rear except for glazed rotors. Hoses look like... -

remember when I said I put the dynamat in, and fixed the whistling window, and rattling brake release? Now with the truck so quiet, I think I hear transmission noise.. Is it my imagination? I think I'll change tranny fluid with Red Line MTL. -

Wind noise is running me stir crazy
I fixed a loud whistle in mine with a new vent window latch assembly. Whistle is now gone. Didn't touch the seals at all. -

You may have to re-use the old ones. When you get it apart, take a few photos. We can make anything! -

Found the rattle! After quieting the cab with dynamat, sealing the vent window with a new latch kit, I still had this big rattle in the parking brake mechanism. Looked and looked, and finally found the parking brake ratchet mechanism was loose. Three bolts total, 2 that go to the firewall, and... -

well, the motor was going to need a full rebuild too, so I backed out. Thanks for the help. Perhaps someone has a good non- integral 6 cylinder head for the present 250-6- justhorns

New Stainless mirrors on a cruddy old truck! $90 from LMC (with shipping) -
turn signal issue
I had a socket with a bad ground. The socket itself was bad. I rebuilt the socket with a good ground wire and the problem was solved. I then replaced the repaired socket with a new one.- justhorns
