K10 Electric fan that can fit in the Shroud

That should be plenty. The problem you run into is the temperature switch and relays. Those little "e-fan kits" ain't much. I used a pair of fan relays I had from a toyota, and ordered a switch but it wasn't the right heat range. Once the fans kicked on they wouldn't kick off. I'm wondering if I...

K10 Electric fan that can fit in the Shroud

X2 this is what I used. May have to upgrade your anternator, any e-fan pulls a lot of amps. But the Aerostar dual fan from mid 90s is the perfect width, just have to rig up mounts.

    86 K10 5.3 swap

Standard tank for SWB is 16 gallons. That one looks shallower so it may be for a LWB. You can get a 25 gallon blazer tank as well as 32, I was getting into it until the weather turned bad.

Renwed Interest In My "Square Body"

I like em. I've only mainly dealt with the silver rallys with the small center cap and beauty ring. I'd love to find a single cab dually 4x4 in pre-1980 with a/c. I had a shot at one and missed out. I have 2 squares now and they both need so much attention (translates to "money") that not much...

Renwed Interest In My "Square Body"

When I said it was a prerequisite I was joking but I'm glad you took me seriously, that truck looks great! I can't imagine it "needing" anything done to it.

Renwed Interest In My "Square Body"

Welcome to the forum! Yes, a lot has changed, and much of it for the better (well, except your marriage statistics lol (sorry I had to)). Lots of modern advances are making these old trucks new favorites. Enjoy your stay and post up pics! (It's kind of a prerequisite).

    Q-jet question

The Mr. Gasket ones I've seen don't seal very well for the underside of the q-jet, and doesn't offer enough butterfly clearance underneath. After messaging Summit they recommended this one. I ordered it but haven't tried it yet. It looks like it will be close clearance for the butterflies, may...

    Vortec heads- cold weather issues?

    Vortec heads- cold weather issues?

The image shows a V-8 and 4 barrel but the drop-down menus seem to only allow for newer model scooters?? A search in their search bar didn't help either. :wtf:

water leak both sides, firewall/cowl areas

Honestly I think it would be easier for me to find a cab already set up for it with the ducts, controls, etc. Dad's cab aint so great anyway. Looks like he did the rockers with pop rivets.

water leak both sides, firewall/cowl areas

Convert it to R-134a, you can buy that stuff at parts stores.

water leak both sides, firewall/cowl areas

The heat is probably worse here in WV compared to TX in the summer. 90 degrees with 90% humidity you feel like a steamed clam lol. Dry heat aint too bad, that's why over 100 don't seem bad to us hillbillies when we get in the desert lol.

water leak both sides, firewall/cowl areas

I used a liberal bead of silicone caulk inside my cowl, at the back where it meets the cab. I still say you're nuts for cutting the a/c out lol. I can't tell you how many times me and wife were on the pipeline or ridge running up the creek sweating to death on a 90 degree day with no a/c and...

    Salvage Yard 10-Bolt Differentials?

At the yard, no way to tell for sure without popping the cover off. I would skip any G80s, and if you got time to kill just check as many as you can and see if anyone put an Eaton, Detroit or Loc-Rite in one.

    Rebuilding.. TH350 or TH400?

Sorry, I'm feeling lazy, but most of the mods in this post would be great upgrades for higher horsepower demands and towing, but I would leave the #2 and 3 check balls in place for smoother shifts... http://www.gmsquarebody.com/forum/showthread.php?p=167270&highlight=dual-feed#post167270 Edit...

    Diy4x shackle flip question

Mine has rearward lean but I installed 56" 3/4 ton springs, instead of the stock 52" springs so I had to move the brackets back to where the front bolt holes for the bracket lined up with the rear rivet holes of the old hanger in the frame. My flip kit is from Offroad Design though so more of an...

    Odd chassis question

http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/14b_bible/index.html About 1/2 way down. Looks like the C&C is a whopping 9" narrower than the DRW. Also I think there was a 9' bed available for the C&C but don't quote me on that.

    79 k30 steering rebuild

Death wobble is always related to caster. Alignment shops anymore seem to only want to deal with toe-in. At stock lift, 2 degrees of shim may have made it go away (shimming pinion up). With the lift 2 or 4 degrees should work. I have 6" lift and 4 degrees made mine go away. I had completely...

Post up pics of your squares! I've got my dad's truck too from when he passed. Hard to figure out what tasteful mods to do to it in his honor. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay!

    sm465 to np208

Between Baldwin's, J&J's and a bunch of other junkyards and the Ad Bulletin up here, I know we could find the stuff for a direct swap. The trans out of my camo truck would need some work, and you know it's seen just a little bit of abuse lol. That blue truck I had briefly had sm465 to 208 so...

    Rear end and gear suggestions.

I would have to second the F*rd 9". The pinion pilot bearing will help exponentially with the deflection that much hp will produce. 3.73 will be an OK ratio to put your highway rpm around 1800-2000 but if that won't work well with your cam profile you may need to go 4.11.
