    On a similar note without hijacking the OPs thread I have a question. My manual trans, non-tilt (not that it matters) has become quite tight to turn the key when starting. IIRC doesn't the cylinder rotate and a rod pushes the actual ignition switch located lower on the column? I'm just wondering...

    Isn't the 88 and newer IFS and metric? It wouldn't come close to fitting. But what about the K30's, Blazers and Burbs, did they not continue the same body style and drivetrain thru 91? But ya, looks like Dorman screwed this up.

Prior to the truck I had an 87 elco built as a "pro-touring" car/truck thing. 9 inch ford, 12 inch discs all around, B-body spindles, Hotchkiss A-arms....blah blah blah. I called it the "Mullet". My bananas not bruised...

    Replace all wear items in the front suspension. Convert the steering shaft to the Jeep type and lose the rag joint in the process. Make sure frame isn't cracked where the steering box mounts. Set toe to 1/16th inch toe IN. Carry on.

    $200 for an acdelco is ridiculous. That brand isn't what it used to be. They have outsourced everything like everyone else to stay alive. I'd take duralast over them 100% of the time. If you want quality, it seems the small US companies are the way to go. Moroso, Tuff Stuff, PowerMaster, etc...

    There are reverse rotation fans and clutches as well. They are usually used in serpentine belt systems where the belt snakes around the pulley and spins it backwards.     Depending on how long it's been sitting on a shelf and the climate you may be better off just buying new. Here in the hot, dry desert I have bought new parts and not got around to installing them for years. The seals and gaskets dry out and shrink. The first time you use it, it leaks.

    They're not all separate. I have both versions from 85. The remote is off a diesel. Have you verified it has the correct fluid level? Low fluid will make it squeal like a pig in Arkansas.
