    If you don't know how old the battery cables are, I'd replace them. If it doesn't fix the issue, at least you know they are new....preventive thought.

    I really like that. It's a good spot to lay tools and such as well. With that thought, I'd get some cheap flat magnets from amazon and put them underneath it to help "hold" those tools, screws, etc. I put a few under the corners where the hood height bushing is. Love it...

    Water on drivers floor

    window seal is easy to check on a dry day. run water over it for a few minutes, then get under the dash and look for water. May want to block off the cowl so it doesn't interfere with the window seal test.
