    I vote for dedicated winter/snow tires. I bought a set of "Claws" from TreadWright tire for my 2005 Sierra 1500. I never got stuck during "mud season" or plowing the dirt driveway which is steep in parts. On the minus side they took a lot of weights to balance and are noisy on pavement.

    First disconnect the battery, then with a multi-meter probe each side of the fusible link to check for continuity. There will be hotness to the starter with the battery connected.

    That ladder device might work with some square tubing and welding. I installed one on the outer "C" channel of a small dump body. The ladder slid between the frame and dump body when stored.

    You will need a different converter and governor with a 6.2 diesel to gas swap. Not that rare, I've had several, think CUCV's.

    You might have 4 low beam bulbs, buy 2 high beam bulbs. The blue lights might be daytime running lights.

    Pre-bent lines are also bent to fit into the packaging and don't always straighten out like needed. I put pre-bent stainless in my old 2005 Sierra, would only use them again on a bare frame. There was too much stuff in the way for easy routing resulting in mass consumption of adult beverages.

    As a test, remove the front driveshaft and see if the truck moves. If it doesn't, go to plan "B".
