    Bread truck 350?

The p30 platform trucks shared the same engine as a c/k truck fwiw and the model designation was LS9, run from 1969 up until around 1986, so the difference you probably felt had everything to do with gearing.

    Bread truck 350?

I think what was different about them is that they had forged cranks and often a 4 bolt block so over the long run they were very durable, especially for the abuse that was heaped upon them, as often seen in dump trucks and other industrial engines. They didn't necessarily make a lot more...

    Bread truck 350?

Yeah your basic small block 350 was really quite similar for about 20 years with little difference other than intake manifold for a 2 barrel, sometimes a work duty cam or there is a chance it probably had 4.10's.

Build 'em like they used too?

I think a lot of stores now days offer discount brands and then a upper scale quality brand and usually everyone defaults to the cheap brand and finds out afterwards the difference between a cheaper reman product vs a brand new product, but the price is often a difference as well. Advance Auto...

    Anyone ever rebuilt a 8.5" G80 unit?

I think at the point you look at "rebuilding" a g80 I think I would rather get an open diff and put one of those Yukon Sparttan lockers in it. Might not be beefy for hardcore offroad stuff but I am certain it is fine for daily driving and occasional offroad duty.

    5.3LS

Check your local auto salvage yard You can usually pull your own for less than 500 bucks and get the matching transmission for another 200 or so. Then you can make sure and get the ECM, harness, exhaust parts, etc etc. It's going to cost a lot less if you are willing to pull it. On the...

    Front Drive Shaft Rebuild

I was going to rebuild mine on the 77 I had but it previously had the full time NP 203 so by the time I converted it to a part time setup the splines were worn really bad on the front (and the rear) driveshafts so I just opted to buy a new set off ebay and I have to admit they were top notch for...

Rear D44, Car 10 bolts, and Ford 9 inch rear differentials

If you have no problems with the 12 bolt stick with it. If you blow up the g80, which is common, and really want something beefier, you would be best off swapping to a 14 bolt semi floater. It can be found with 6 lug axles, can also come with your gears of choice, and also locker choices...

    New Steering Wheel

I was going to offer up the same info. You might be setting up a situation where you are no longer able to shift well or move around much (or get in the truck easily).

How do I remove this hub ??

I imagine it doesn't cost too much to find replacements anyways, lol.

    Stripped steering gear box mount

They don't look much better than a helicoil to me. I started using timeserts and they seem to be a lot better thread replacement.

How do I remove this hub ??

I'm pretty sure they could be removed and reinstalled with the right tools. Figuring out might be an endeavor on youtube.

    15" rims on a k20 suburban

I think sometimes people already have the tires and not wanting to buy a new set? Just my guess. I am not 100 % in that boat, only 25, lol. I had to buy one tire to get it out of the storage lot because the guy who had it before let it go flat and drug it enough to shred the sidewall so it...

    15" rims on a k20 suburban

Yeah I had a chance to set up a set of mint polshed 5 slots (like the MT challengers) but they were in 16.5 and I decided it was not worth it in my world. I have some old aluminum wheels from the 80's era on there now and I'm probably just going to powder coat them something dark, if I choose...

    15" rims on a k20 suburban

are 16.5's the ones that for the factory steel wheels they didn't have the safety bead for keeping the tire from debeading?

    15" rims on a k20 suburban

Yes but keep in mind the front on a k20 is still the corporate 10 bolt usually but the calipers are mounted to a backing plate that still has a larger diameter. I'm not sure why they do that but the difference is 11.86" vs 12.5" inches. Not sure how much of that turns into the grind on the...

12 bolt rear end identification searched everywhere!!

From what I remember the stamping on the axle tubes has nothing to do with the carrier or R&P. I can't recall all the numerical data on it but it just comes down to a production serial date. The internals would have been on the tag in the glove box with a metal tag on the lower bolt on the...

    Question For My K20 Brothers

Being a k20 I would go ahead and invest some cash with ORD and get you some poly bushings and some of the greaseable through bolts and do them in all the locations. Don't forget to check the the frame mounted parts on the rear.

    15" rims on a k20 suburban

My understanding is there will be some fitment issue on the front brakes because the k20 front brake calipers are slightly larger diameter than the 6 lug counterpart. I think you can shave the brake calipers and then have the 15 inch wheels fit (and there are reportedly no ill effects).

Roof rack install pictures. Half DIY basket and Factory OEM roof rails

I'm somewhat curious what the setup is on the rear portion of that carrier? I'm not as familiar with the Burbs as I am a K5 but looking to maybe setup one in the future similarly. Thanks!

best 10 Bolt gears for highway and low end torque

I would honestly figure it out before you swap anything. Did someone own this truck before you and have big tires on it? (LIKE REALLY BIG, MAYBE 44'S OR SOMETHING...)

best 10 Bolt gears for highway and low end torque

Hate to be that guy but have you looked at going with a nv4500 or a 700r4? Might make your current gears perfect and to be honest its easier to swap a transmission in to test than gears and be wrong...

1973 Chevy Blazer - opinions wanted on interior color

I would go lighter, especially if you drive it in the summer. I know dark colors get hotter and burning the shit out of the back of your legs in the summer with shorts on sucks.
