Search for a spare 15-inch wheel or two

I believe that is a 15x8 due to the trim ring shown. The 15x7 and 15x6 wheels use a different trim ring that doesn’t have as much depth. It has a flat surface on the rim edge, compared to the flowing edge of the one shown. Having said that, if I remember right, a 15x8 trim ring will NOT latch...

    G series camper van forums

Our small church bought a 92 G3500 from another small church (original owners) a few years ago. Had 40,3?? Miles on it. I think it now has just under 41k miles on it. Selling it has been discussed, and wife and I are considering buying it to do the same (converting it to camper) so I’m...

Here’s the best heavy rust dissolver for smaller parts like nuts and bolts that you’re probably not aware of and is probably in your kitchen.

I like electrolysis for a lot of stuff. This is an old plane of my grandfather’s that I found a few years back in a bucket in back of the barn. Completely frozen / rusted up. I could have just glass bead blasted it, and been done, but stuck it in my small electrolysis tank (5gal bucket...

Why is my bell housing knocking!

Hydraulic bell housing and 3 finger clutch? If so, check to see if the fingers are hitting the throw out bearing lever. I did that once, and it sounded just like in the video. Had to go to a diaphragm clutch for a later model in my case, as I was installing a hydraulic bell housing in my 82 that...

Steering Wheel Too Close '84 C-10

Will the 84-up humps be made with the t-case shifter holes and mounting rings for the 208? I looked at them last year when they came out but that is what is holding me off buying one. If I have to put my t case mount in one, and then install it in my cab, it may not be worth the effort.

Steering Wheel Too Close '84 C-10

Ok here are the 87 c10 and 93 s10 blazer columns side by side. Talked to one of the buddies who did it and he said the only mods necessary are to move the mounts one set of holes toward the wheel on the s10 column and slight trimming of the sleeve, as the mount being moved will require it. A...

Steering Wheel Too Close '84 C-10

I know of people who have used S10 columns to gain clearance. I’ve got one and a squarebody column on the shelf. Will try to remember to get them out and do a side by side comparison

    Barn find 6.2 precautionary measures

My 84 k1500 6.2/4speed sat up for 9 years before I got it. I put 2 batteries in it, had it fired up in less than 2 minutes and drove it home. I wouldn’t change anything until I knew it was worth messing with.

Lowest drop coil springs for c20/c30?

I know, back when we were turning 400 mains down and building short rod 383s, then turning around and adding main bearing spacers to 400 blocks to put the 350 crank in for a 377, etc etc. Trial and error, digging thru the parts yards etc looking for swap parts, ideas, etc.

Lowest drop coil springs for c20/c30?

If you cut coils for that much drop, you need to move the lower ball joints inward. Back in the early 80s, before drop spindles, on my 81 C10, I had a local shop make me a set of coils that gave a 4” drop. I cut out a square around my ball joint, removed 5/8” more behind the piece, then slide...

whats every body using.. looking for a new stereo head unit

I’ve still got a shaft, blue light Kenwood cassette radio. Thought of seeing what it would take to get usb or aux fitted to it. Dash has been hacked so unsure if I plan to go back shaft, or 1.5 din since I have a complete dash from an 89 Blazer I parted.

    My other special vehicle

Keep it like it is and enjoy it. I have people always telling me I ought to engine swap etc the 65 C10 that my grandfather bought new. I just ride in it and enjoy the memories.

    The infamous 10" bumper

I’ve got an old Bailey drop bumper from the 80s on my truck. They were made in Oklahoma. Old photo, but got it to go with the early, non chrome Warn winch bumper on front of the truck. Bought it out of a yard in Parsons KS. Looks like it was dealer installed, but don’t remember the dealer name...

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Yes we used to bore them .125 over in the early 80s and called them 301s not realizing that made a 4 inch bore and basically a 302 like the early Z28s

    OEM cylinder head castings - 1977 K10

Remember that GM went to thinner (lighter) castings in 1977, so if you get 882 castings, there is a difference in early and late heads. The early heads had a straight edge under the spark plugs, where the later heads were “scalloped” around the plugs. Early heads Later heads The 010...

Corp 14 bolt brake line difference question

The bottom rear is from a 1 ton, as you can tell by the shock bracket placement. (In front of axle on passenger side on 3/4t, behind axle on pass side on 1t. Both srw and drw axles are this way) Maybe the difference in lines is 3/4t vs 1t? Or one with the load equalizer valve and one without?

Nice looking old 65. Kind of partial to them, as still have the old 65 my grandfather bought new here in the little town I live in. Still got the 230 and 3 on the tree.

Definitive interchangeable parts thread 73-87(91) (non-drivetrain)

Those old 208s held up better than most folks think. From privates to NCOs, they were well tested for strength. Also had a better gear ratio which was needed with the NA 6.2s, even with the 4.56s gears in the old 5/4s
