What have you done to your square lately??

Not sure what BBC you are installing, versus the small block, but I think that the 454 engine is external balance. Unless you are replacing a 400, DON'T use that flexplate Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

What have you done to your square lately??

I feel your pain! Having the fix on hand, while going off on another tangent for a repair is a time consuming and costly method. I'm an technician by trade and sometimes it's the basics we over look. Glad that $10 part fix your problem that you spent hours chasing Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Missing vin on k10 can they be swapped over from a parts truck with most of the parts?

Lot's of good recommendations here. You said you know the family of the previous owner. See if they will apply for lost title, then give that to you with a bill of sale. One of his heirs is probably the executor of his estate and can sign paperwork. All time consuming, but legal, and you will...

Without the said "test equipment", probably similar to the hit or miss trial and error process of changing jets in the carburetor and timing the distributor Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Did you research the kyb's ? Just wondering, I heard good things about them, and need to get new shocks too. I know that some trucks in the generation following the squares had Bilstein from the factory and have been considering those as well Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

If that grille is for the 87 in your profile, good luck finding a new bowtie. I've looked and think it's a one year only piece. Let me know if you find 2!

The latch on my sliding rear window has been broken for years! Just got to climb my big ole body into the bed and reach through to unlock her. I will fix this when I get her painted. Any thoughts on sliding rear window versus solid? Haven't decided yet Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk

Looking for the elusive disposable Th200 Non Lock-Up

I worked at an independent transmission shop from 1984 thru 1990, we wouldn't even use a pre 1986 700r4 core to rebuild because of all the issues from 82-85, and almost never built TH200's ever!
