    "The Highway Hauler"

A 4x4 with a 4 speed sm465 at 75 will be screaming without an overdrive if running any gear\tire combo that would be usable in general 4x4 use, from what I am familiar wjth. Not saying it can't be done, but will be challenging. I'm looking forward to your progress and solutions.

    Fuel gauge

No, it won't work. You have an open circuit, so it's a broken wire, bad sender, etc. If you can get to it, you can pull the sending unit wire and put an ohm meter between the pin on the sender and ground. If it shows between 0-90 ohms, the sender is working and you have a wiring problem. If...

What have you done to your square lately??

I proved the old adage of "if you think it's an ignition problem, it's probably a fuel issue , and vice versa" correct. Last week it started cutting out and bucking, and did it on both tanks, so I figured ignition . Ordered a new hei refurb kit from Skip White. Waited a week and installed it...

1988 C30 Dually Crew Cab Charlotte, NC

Welcome. The square body was used in crew cabs, suburbans, and blazers until 91, I believe. I'm sure others will correct me otherwise.

Thx. On my Dodge, I mounted them under the bumper I made. I prefer the recessed look better.

Does anyone know who made this cupholder?

Went to a crash once where a woman was killed coming home from the grocery store. Hit in the back of the head by a jar of pickles. DRT. When it's your time, it's your time...

It's only been about 35 years since I had a warm 8274, but I believe the P.O. Had used a round trailer connector for the remote.

Eskimomann, how did you get your old mirror mounting tab off? I just picked up that mirror, but am reluctant to pull my tab off my brand new windshield. They just had to make the new tab slightly bigger...

    Oil Pressure Gauge problems

After replacing the stock sender in mind twice, I got frustrated and went to a mechanical gauge. Actually swapped all 4 of factory spots ( sunpro temp, water, and volt, then an eBay tach too). No more wondering if accused not.

    Exhaust/Mufflers

It's always interesting to see how things have changed. I remember getting the exhaust done on my 73 F250 highboy in the late 80's and paying to upgrade to the massive 2 1\4" exhaust from 2" , which was considered the performance standard at the time.

    Looking to get a winch

Not sure how your plow is mounted, but if your front frame is available, you can mount a receiver hitch and get a winch in a receiver mount. Then you have the option to use it from either the front of rear, and can remove it when not needed by simply pulling the hitch pin and wiring connector...

    Taillights/Tag lights out

You might try checking for power in the circuit at the rear harness connector . That would eliminate the wiring from there to the lights. Then work forward or back from there depending on what you find.

What have you done to your square lately??

After replacing the clutch a couple of weeks ago, I replaced the slave and master today. Bleeding was a challenge. Bought a mityvac, no joy. Finally pulled the whole system out and bled it on the bench. Working fine now. On a side note, the hydro clutch was swapped in sometime in the past...
