    USA-1 Seat Covers

Hate you are having issues with Skyjacker, as I’ve always had good luck with them. Luckily I am only 2.5 hrs from them, and also have family in Monroe. See if there is any way you can talk to Lonnie Jr or Cindy. They are the children of the founder and part owners. Not sure if Mr Lonnie (Sr)...

    Headlamp Adjusters

I just changed out all the adjusters on our church’s 92 GMC 3500 van (same as the 89-91 Blazer / Sunburban headlights). I could not find GM, so bought Auveco 10760 (10 pack for Chrysler) and used the plastic pieces from them. Removed the screws that came with them and used the GM screws, which...

305 SBC vs 6.2 Detroit: Which would you rather?

Whatever is in the best condition, the nicest truck, for the best deal that you can get is what I say the winner is. I have an 84 K1500 swb with a 6.2, with a Banks turbo, 3.42s and 33s, currently with an SM465 4sp, so no OD, and get 22-24mpg if I keep my foot out of it. Plan to do a 4L80...

Are these dual shocks factory. Pic inside. 1987 K10 long bed truck

If I remember right, GM cut the shock valving in half on the quad shock pair, so it would take longer to heat up the oil in them while off roading. My 84 came factory that way, but its hard to find aftermarket shocks that have the reduced valving (may not be the proper word) and putting 2...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Got this yesterday, along with several pieces of antique furniture and 5 vehicle loads of genealogy for an old man I know. He sold one of his houses and told me to get the genealogy and anything else I wanted out of it. It hung on the porch of the old store his grand parents had.

86 6.2 diesel crank no start

Been dealing with these IDI diesels since 78, when the old 5.7s came out. We’ve had at least one in the family every since, and I’m fixing an 84 up with a 6.2 that will go back to being my daily driver. I tried to buy the truck new when it hit the lot in Nov 1983, not knowing a buddy had ordered...

    High hump floor carpet

Here is an 81-83 hump I have that is set for an NV4500. Truck was an original 4speed so I offset cut and turned the hole around so I retained my original trim ring and other parts.

What master cylinder do you have? If original, will the port for the wheel cylinders supply enough fluid for the rear disc calipers?

Trailer Hitch - Factory Step Bumper

I’ve got two receiver hitches for squares, one was a factory hitch from my 88 R30, the other I believe is a U haul one I got off a truck in a bone yard, so good used ones are out there. Both came off trucks with factory step bumpers. I need to work on one of them, as I now have a drop bumper...

    Folding outer door skin lip

Work slow, like bend 1/8” all the way around, then another 1/8” all the way, etc its time consuming, but will help keep from stretching it in spots. (If that makes since. I’m not a body man, so am learning too) Before you hammer it tight, close your door and check gaps, probably won’t have to...

1995 454 tbi fuel pump & pressure recommendations

Is the 95 still TBI? Or going carb? If still tbi, you are good with the current pump, as the tbi has the regulator built in it

    350 TBI FUEL PUMP

I would go with a 1996-up Vortec pump (ep381) because of the flow rate. The original TBI pump (ep386) barely flowed enough to support the 4.3/5.0 engines, much less the 5.7/7.4 engines. And before anyone says “but that is a high pressure pump” remember, the pump is capable of producing a higher...

    350 TBI needs starting fluid

I just worked on an 88 that was the same, crank with starting fluid and run fine afterwards. On it, it turned out to be a faulty MAP sensor, but I checked all the other systems to make sure none of them had an issue either. To check a MAP sensor - There are 3 wires going to the sensor. 5v...

    Extended Brake Hoses

When I lifted my 84 k10, I used brake hoses from an 88 c2500 7200lb gvw truck. If I remember right, the fronts were 4” longer than the originals on my 84, and the rear was about 3-1/2” longer. Direct bolt ins and available at most any parts store.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

the two forks of the river come together at the LA/MS state line. Both forks are totally different than the river in LA. I’ve hunted and fished both forks for over 1/2 a century
