    Brake issue

Hello everyone. Im having an issue with my left tear drum brake. I teplaced all the hardware including wheel cylinders last week. Now every once in awhile the LR locks up, but not every time. I also had a hard time getting the drum off even after loosening the adjuster. Am I missing something...

Build your own spark plug wires?

Anyone ever use the build your own wire kits from Amazon? The sets from Autozone royally suck! Some of those are way too long or too short. I'm thinking of getting these and making them myself. I have stock manifolds right now but found a set of ram horns on a 70's C8000 that I will eventually...

    behind seat storage

Was wondering if anyone re makes the behind the seat storage boxes? I saw this one online and it's made by DeeZee. I went to their website, but they don't have them. I don't have much in the way of carpentry skills so wouldn't know how to go about making one.

    Bed disassembly

The only thing I'm replacing is the front panel. I'll find an original piece to replace the damaged piece. I want to take it apart so I can do a good clean up on the parts and paint them before reassembling it all.

    Bed disassembly

I have an 84 Sierra long bed that has a bad front panel. Someone in the past had something slide forward and hit it and it pulled the bolts out of the metal, so I'm needing to replace it. While I'm at it, I'm thinking of completely taking the bed apart for cleaning and dent removal. My question...

    Tail light modification

I painted the insides of taillight housings with gloss white. Made them a whole lot brighter. I did the same on my old 65 Suburban as well. Those housings were anodized metal but the white made the light much brighter. I also wax the lenses inside and out to bring back the red color after it...

Suggestions on primer for my topper

Nice truck sir. Looks great. I'm going to do the same with mine. The blue I'm going to use is Strata Blue, actual USAF blue, and the topper will be the same. I'm making a re creation of an old flightline vehicle, complete with a lightbar with amber lenses, and serial number on the doors. Serial...

    Looking for a softer ride

I'm running about 65 PSI in the rears and about 45 in the fronts. I was hoping for just a smidge better mileage but no luck, lol. The front shocks we're replaced a couple years ago, but they are already leaking. I don't think they were the right ones. They look more like small car shocks. Back...

    Rear brake hardware

I ended up NOT using this kit. The piece on the top of this picture is about an inch shorter than the original. I had to buy it just to get the 2 red springs that go under the self adjuster arm.

    Rear brake hardware

It's amazing how a simple job turns into a 2 week job. Started out just replacing the wheel cylinders, then the complete hardware kit, which I didn't use most of. Then ended up replacing both brake lines from the tee to each rear wheel. Got it done finally, and truck is back on the road. They...

    Cab roof lights

I've seen the block with the terminals on it, kind of figuring they were for grounds. Here is one of the lights, broken down so you can see what I'm working with. If these don't end up working, I'll find a set of originals, a pattern, and install those. I like these since they are low profile...

    Cab roof lights

Ok guys. I finally found the destructions, I mean instructions for my cab lights.(They fell behind my bench). Anyways here's how they say to wire them up. I'm all ears on a much better, safer way to wire them up. How can I get the wiring between the roof panels, and still have them all...

    A-pillar grab handles.

I don't have any tools like you have but if you were to make and sell them, what would be the cost? I'd want one for each side though. I'm weird that way, lol

Bed removal and using stock taillights

I'm wanting to remove my bed, to replace the front panel, get the large dent out of the left side, and generally clean up the frame, and replace the rubber fuel lines from the fuel tank. Anyways, has anyone used their stock taillights mounted to the frame, or did you get a different set of...

    Looking for a softer ride

Thanks DoubleDingo. I think the shocks come with new studs. If they don't, I will definitely get some. I really lucked out on this truck when I bought it 5 years ago. Very little rust, except in the lower left corner of the windshield, which I fixed, and the right cab corner, where someone left...

    Looking for a softer ride

As far as shocks go, can I use standard original ride quality, style shocks or should I go with heavy duty?. I found some AC Delco shocks for about $35 each, or AC Delco Heavy Duty for about $39 each. I've heard that Monroe, and Gabriel shocks aren't that good?
