Vapor Barrier behind new door panels?

Silverado's had both that paper behind the interior door handle "hole" and the plastic water barrier. Custom Deluxe and Sierra only had the paper. Not sure where the Scottsdale and High Sierras fell??

Missing a bit of side molding on my 85 scottsdale...

Ebay has some NOS pieces from time to time and they are cut a little longer for each piece you need. GM used to have a separate PN# for each and every location on these trucks/SUVs, long bed and short bed. It would help you to call your local GM dealership parts desk, with your VIN#, and get the...

‘83 K5: Confusion with ordering the right grill. Please help!

Only the 1983-88 grill with dual headlights will have the OEM mounts for that square parking lap behind it. The 1983-84 V22 Silverado grill has a narrower center bar in it that flows all the way across into the headlight bezels. The 1985-88 V22 Silverado grill has a much wider center bar on...

    Under dash speaker opinion

Yeah, I tried those lower kick panel type speakers on my 1969 C10 SWB. First time I set my parking brake, WHAM!!! There went my pretty tan finish and a bent in mesh grill face. I had no sound deadening behind it either- Just original GM steel. CRAZY!!

    Greetings from Texas

Howdy from North Texas, 76310. New rig looks very nice for Oregon state. Move that "FUEL INJECTION" tailgate back over the left side. Truck must have been repainted at some time. Being a Silverado and no lower moldings nor holes for them.

Nobody warned me about the MPGs on these square bodies!

When you get both tanks working again, you will be fine. Keep a Jerry Can in the bed too as back-up.

Nobody warned me about the MPGs on these square bodies!

That 'Burban of yours has TBI, fuel injection, and sits way down lower too. What axle ratio is in the Suburban, 3.42?? That's comparing apples to grapefruit.

To Tint or Not to Tint

Yes, get the legal shade, light tint. Just make sure it is this modern-day ceramic tint. It blocks out so much more heat and 99% of that interior killing UV light!! DO IT....

    84 GMC for my daughter

Nice, original, survivor!!! I like it!!! It has good bones. I would remove the rest of the lower side moldings and glue (with a 3M wheel). Then Penetrol the truck. Then reinstall new lower moldings. Our vendors sell precut kits. :waytogo:

Best idea for support for painting truck bed?

Kind of. Depends on why the bed is being removed? New tank(s) and/or sending units, adding dual tanks, repair bed, frame work, etc. I just figured a cherry picker would make it easier for someone when working alone.

Best idea for support for painting truck bed?

Why not a cherry picker?? Just run a couple of 2X4s inside the bedrails, hoist her up and suspend her there. Would be easy to lift off the truck frame by ourselves too....

Steering Wheel Too Close '84 C-10

Perfect. i found a wrecked 1993 GMC Sierra Classic (years back) and cut the OEM matching material off the door panels. I used that material to replace the 1983 Silverado door panel carpet inserts. Really pulled my interior together...
