Lowering Shackles on a C10 Stepside
I installed 2" lowering/leveling shackles on a friend's all stock 1986 GMC C10 Stepside- No issue. No bed cutting, no bolt cutting. It's just the fleetsides require notching of the bed cross-braces. As far as taking the factory shackle/bolts out, we only need to raise (or lower) the frame...- BadBowtie

Original color of my instrument panel?
1984 is when GM moved the headlight switch up some & moved the wiper switch up to the steering wheel turn signal lever. All Silverados were black with the brushed aluminum overlay glued on. -
Recommendations for a new 4x10 speaker?
I would get the dual speaker replacement & add new Kicker 3.5" speakers to both front dash corners- Like OE did.- BadBowtie

1991 suburban sunvisors in 1987 pickup? Will they fit?
You will have to drill 2 holes for each sunvisor inner retainer. There is a long needle like guide that stabs thru the headliner and aligns with a smaller pinhole in the sheet metal. Then the regular sheet metal screw that holes these inner retainers in place. Remember short screws & drill bit... -

Replacement Seat Opinions
I still like the 1988-94 GM full-size bench seats, but they are getting harder to find each day, and BIG $$ to get recovered. -
Dash speaker mounting
No factory truck had 3 dash speakers. Either a base model with a single center 4x10, or two 3.5" speakers in the corners and two 4x10 speakers in the rear corners. That's it. Today most guys upgrade rear corners to 6x9s with aftermarket bracket kits and replace the two outer, front, 3.5"... -

Retainers screws threaded onto the longer switch shaft pIn, not pushed on. Might be why yours are no longer staying on??? -
Erratic shifting/Hunting for Gear TH350
Maybe buy a new TH350 fill tube and indicator?? Drain any excess fluid and add a full bottle of Lucas Transmission Conditioner in. LED bulbs in gauge cluster
I would pull the cluster back out and find the ground tab that bolts up into the top, left, metal cowling area. It will have like 6 ground tabs on it, maybe only 3 being used by wires. Remove the center bolt/screw and clean the metal ground bracket and the metal dash mounting area for that...- BadBowtie

Bone stock 85 305 upgrade
I would ditch the 3.73s and move in a new set of 3.42 gears. Also slide a non-EGR aluminum intake under the Rochester carb. Definitely need aftermarket aluminum or GM Vortec heads, do some port and polish work. Add the biggest external trans cooler that will fit behind that radiator grill- If...- BadBowtie

Stone shields for front of rear wheel 1986 K10
Aftermarket used to make two different styles of 1973-87 stainless steel trim there. Both used to single stainless steel bolt at the top and both tucked under the wheel lip mldg. 86 k10 Long Bed, rear springs, long or short? does it matter?
I did a frame swap on my 1983 C10 LWB truck years back. I used a 1985 C20 LWB frame. My 1983 had the short leaf springs and the 1985 had the longer springs.
