    Bed bolt upgrade?

Would “horror of horrors” Ford T-55(?) bed carriage bolts and this style caged nut work on a Squarebody? I need to pull the bed off my C10 to add a bolt in C notch. Trying to preplan for any factory bolts that end up spinning. The factory hardware is in overall great shape, but the bed floor...

    The small, annoying purple(ish) dinosaur… Presenting Barney…

Practice makes perfect. 90s Rangers are a dime a dozen. 80s Squarebodies, not so much. Ralph, out of Texas originally, is nowhere near as crusty. By practicing on this sold new in Columbus MS “funk and nastiness”, will make refreshing the C10 go more smoothly.

    Used Dash Pads- Any value?

Sharp. Wrinkled. Flimsy. Wear the chainmail stripping one of these bogus dash cores.

2 rivets, 2 linked bolts. Kinda crusty, yep, model brush and dtm oil based enamel. Gets in the rough spots more readily. Instant 2” leveling job. Will do passenger side, add traction bars and spring clamps. Practice run for a frame that matters.

    The small, annoying purple(ish) dinosaur… Presenting Barney…

A lot of this stuff is the exact same process on any truck/trucklette. And I’d rather Barney be the “utility pickup” than Ralph or Whiskey Bent. And unlike Ralph? Parts are affordable…

    The small, annoying purple(ish) dinosaur… Presenting Barney…

Today. Had to add more oil to Ralph’s core support bolts. Stubborn F’ers… Will be changing pump/sending unit/gasket. After I pull and flush the polyethylene fuel tank. Will be changing the fuel filler neck/hose, $200 Vatozone 1yr warranty or $35 Fleabay 1yr warranty? Hmm… Will also change the...

    The small, annoying purple(ish) dinosaur… Presenting Barney…

While Ralph’s hardware is soaking in penetrating oil… Did some stuff to Barney. Keep in mind parked under trees, on grass, fir 8.5-9 years. Bed was full of rotting leaves, black walnuts and live weeds. No rust through… Did those yesterday. Toolbox was from a friend who is moving, cleaning out...

Shelby, our ought as well be daughter, her Merle Pittie “Spacey Acey” and her current Danger Ranger. Why yes, I am in fact tacky enough to do the 94 East LA style. Gotta pull Ralph’s front end off.

    Oil filter upgrade?

I have braided stainless AN line kits for the transmission (Th400) and engine oil coolers. Both sets came with factory in tank cooler to AN adapter fittings. Russel brand if I remember correctly for the oil cooler. Generic for the transmission cooler. Will be running similar for the ps cooler.

    Oil filter upgrade?

Big block radiator with built in oil cooler. Truck is also getting an upsized power steering cooler. Both are coming out of a 92 K1500, block is actually a 1979 date code. Radiator is out of the K10 mud racer that initially donated the engine as well. Will be running the 1992 waterpump...

    Oil filter upgrade?

Does that fit on the tiny V6 filter mount? Both engines take the V6 filter, as does my Vortec equipped K3500.

    Oil filter upgrade?

My 85 project has a 4.3, getting replaced with a 350. Both engines take the relatively tiny AC whatever 52 oil filter. Donor engine has the angled gmt400 4wd filter mount. Current 4.3 the vertical filter mount. I’d prefer to run a vertical PH8A/FL-1 equivalent sized filter, as both our...

Dropping my Stock '74 Stepper - Need Advice

You’re saving me a bunch of aggravation with this post… Rear is already flipped, shock relocators, Gabriel Load Assist shocks. Ordering another set of 2.5” drop spindles next month, front shock relocators for the current Gabriel Load Assists. With all new poly bushings/mounts, factory issued f/r...

    TBI/center bolt valve cover options

Look at 4.3s as your oil filler donor. You can also use a 4.3 oil filter adapter to gain clearance in tight installs, bolts right on to an sbc. Centerbolt valve covers through L31 Vortec should bolt right onto a TBI Squarebody. And that is the thread in style straight oil filler pipe, requires...

1984 Winnebego RV P30 Chassis 454 Th475 and REAR DISK BRAKES.

I have a parking drum 413/727/Spicer 70 in the 60s Dodge M400 based motorcoach. And a parking drum equipped 350/SM465/Spicer 70 in the 1985 C60 lineman’s truck. Both are supposed to be donating engine/transmission into vintage 1/2t trucks…

    Starting custom dash build.

Back at it, finally. First 2 coats of self etching primer. Bit of a change in plans, Lisa ordered a cheap cover off Temu, I grabbed a bunch of closed cell 3/8” foam shipping packaging at work… The A/C “chrome” piece got snapped in half, new will be some sort of 1/4-3/8” fancy hardwood with...

Dropping my Stock '74 Stepper - Need Advice

That’s why I’m keeping my stock 15x6 rallies up front, with a 215/70 or 205/70 to match the rear 15x8 with 255/70 or 285/70 rears. Lucked into a friend wanting to slam her late father’s round eye, willing to do some wheel trading. Hopefully doing the physical swap tomorrow or Monday.
