It is a nice town. The shop I'm going to is called KTL Restorations. They seem to have a good rep and take their cars to events like SEMA and last weeks Triple Crown in TN. There are just no shops around here locally that do much more than collision repair and/or they cannot keep a vehicle... -

Loaded it on the car hauler and taking it south for 90 minutes to a shop in Danville VA for estimates on painting the bed rails where they’re scratched and dinged from the top being removed and installed over the years. I may put the top on one year but have no plans to for now. Also getting... -

Pulled the drivers side door and rebuilt the hinges with new pins and bushings. The lower hinges had a lot of slop and when I got it apart the bushings were trashed. One was MIA, lol. I took a Sharpie and outlined where the hinges were on the door before taking door off. Alignment is close now... -

Pulled the door panels and added 80 mil Kilmat to the inside of the doors with the goal of making the doors sound more solid and less “tinny” when closing. Also cleaned the insides of the doors and greased the regulators. -
Carb at high alt
I modified my fan shroud as Rick mentions. Cut several openings and then riveted thin, flexible rubber “flapper valves” over each opening to allow more air flow when at highway speeds.- WFarm

Weather here has been unusually gorgeous for August, with crisp mornings, highs right around 80 and mostly sunny skies. Blazer fired right up after we got back from the beach and I have been driving it everyday, enjoying the weather. Next project will be modifying the fuel lines so the inlet... -

Great ride on the 1955 Cleveland Welding Co. Roadmaster bike today! Felt bad that it got blasted with sand and salt spray from Erin but spent some time getting it cleaned up. We get home Sunday afternoon and I’ll spend some more time cleaning it up. -

Went to early morning “Cars and Coffee” cruise-in today. Lots of cars, many of which I had not seen previously. Blazer was very popular, although my brake parts cleaner coffee mug was the big hit! Lol -

Wife and I hopped in the Blazer and drove to a new Cruise In tonight. Gorgeous, perfect summer afternoon, beautiful drive. Ran into some old friends we hadn’t seen for a few years, plus won a Door Prize ( I picked a repro gas sign). -

Replaced the alternator bracket and belt. I’ll get the original bracket powder coated and put it back on when it’s done. -

Here are my old school tools. Timing lights are used maybe a couple times a year. Remote starters more often lol. The Volt/Dwell/Tach is rarely used and then only to monitor RPM. -

Hot, hot won't start..
I installed a starter on my 454 (early 70s LS5) with a Delco Delphi one for a 99 Suburban from Oreilly. Also used the slightly shorter mounting bolts. Starter P/N R613326B. Dorman P/N for bolts was 678-107. Everything bolted right up and works beautifully. Starter is a small permanent magnet...- WFarm

Relocated fan temperature switch from head to thermostat housing and replaced the thermostat while I was there. The temperature delta between the head port and intake manifold port was just too much, in that the fans would kick on at a manifold temp of around 150 and of course would never turn...
