    TX87R10 rendered this thread useless

Just as a price point, my 87 long bed with mostly original paint sold for $25,000 earlier this year. Interior was freshened up, engine (350 TBI) fairly detailed, body straight and solid.

I don’t have a FB account so can’t view much there. Wondering if they have a Swap Meet/Sale going on too?

What new tools have you got lately?

What tools are called dikes? AI Overview "Dikes" is a colloquial term for diagonal cutters, a type of hand tool with a beveled cutting edge used for cutting and trimming wires, cables, and other materials. The name comes from the "DIagonal CutterS" (DI-CUTS) origin, which was shortened to...

What have you done to your square lately??

Installed my new front drive shaft today. @Travlr mentioned just replacing the old one, which I did. Ordered a new shaft from Oreilly’s and the guys dropped it off at the shop today. Perfect fit.

What have you done to your square lately??

lol, no. I picked the .22 so we could shoot the pumpkin many times and not traumatize the girls who haven’t shot that much. Figured using the M1 Garand with its 30-06 rounds would destroy the pumpkin with 1 shot, making for a short afternoon! Pumpkin is shot full of holes and lays in the field...

What have you done to your square lately??

Used it as a shooting platform. :D Loaded up the wife, daughter, rifle (just a 22), pumpkin and some weird gourd thing, drove out to a field and had a blast. Then later went thru the Blazer to find all the ejected shells.

    Spare tire carrier

There are no existing bolt holes in the bed.

    Spare tire carrier

Understood. I have a design in my head for one and may make it to use until I can find an original. Concern is the bolt hole layout for mounting it to the bed. Dont like the idea of drilling new holes once I did find an original.

    Spare tire carrier

Yes @Ricko1966 . The style in your photos is what will work. When I do get my hands on one it will look like this.

    Spare tire carrier

The style that bolts to the side of the bed will not work for my Blazer; between the rear seat and the wheel well there is not enough room for a spare tire. Also the “bed” in mine is finished with trim panels that I don’t want to cut or drill.

One can hope…..maybe for that embossed trim too. :D

    Spare tire carrier

Still looking for new of these spare tire carriers. They mount behind the Blazer rear seat. Apparently not real common!

Nah, they don’t like Fords. :D Actually horses, even though they’re not completely color blind, cannot see Red. It would just look grey.

    F350 back to work

I made it very clear to Scarlett that vacation time is OVER. :rotflmao: @TotalyHucked my late parents bought this truck new and didn’t drive it much. The wife always got nervous pulling the horse trailer with the Dodge as it’s a stick. Without the trailer hooked up she shifts gears like a...

    F350 back to work

Got the 1999 F350 back from paint! Looks pretty good, much better than before. Before I took it for painting I removed the running boards, rear bumper and emblems. Also replaced the headlights and taillights. The body is rust and dent free, minus a few small dings here and there so there were no...

What have you done to your square lately??

Based on how fubar the rear u-joints were and how much nicer it drives now, I dropped the front shaft to rebuild it too. The rear u-joint (closest to the transfer case) of the Double Cardan joint has some slop in it. I’m taking this axle to a shop with the right tools to have it rebuilt.

What have you done to your square lately??

Wife is off today so we had some Shop Time together, with her helping put the driveshaft in the Blazer. She is very handy with tools and always surprises people at work when she pulls out her tool kit (keeps it in the Jeep) and fixes something while others watch and ask her how she knows how to...

What have you done to your square lately??

Installed the new U-Joints in the rear drive shaft. Much more gooder lol. When I worked at Oreilly’s after retirement U-Joints were the most feared parts to replace as there were so many “Wrong answers”. Yesterday I had them order the wrong parts per my bad. Turns out the right ones were in...

What have you done to your square lately??

Out driving yesterday and I noticed a shudder/vibration when accelerating. Shudder stopped when I took my foot off the gas, started back up when accelerating. Nothing noticed at steady speed. So I figured U-Joints were the likely culprits and after looking at them and twisting and prying to no...

    Show your daily driver

Practically stole these. A coworker’s husband had them sitting in a shed on his late parents farm. They are very well built. Then the Oreilly I worked at decided to quit selling individual fasteners and my boss asked me if I wanted to buy the stores inventory. Got hundreds of boxes of nuts...
