Cool... Thanks for the interchange/fitment info guys. :) We'll see what happens Saturday when I go to look at one I found, but if it's anything like what I saw in the pictures, it'll be hard for me not to do the swap. Taking tools with me if we decide to do a swap right then and there. -

Cool... I was thinking along those lines. Just needed a little affirmation on the thought process. The existing bed I have a feeling will need at least $150-200 worth of work. So, if I can pick this other one up at a good price I'll probably jump on it. Thanks guys! :waytogo: -

Thinking about swapping over to an '86 bed on my '73... It would sure as hell fix my rust issues and make it a bit easier to fill the tank. My only hesitation is that even though my bed has a bunch of pitting from the rust and I'd have to patch over the wheel wells, it's a solid and straight... -

Installed a new to me rear view mirror... Now I can actually see out the back of the truck instead of a haze of color between the black dots... :) This weekend I'll hopefully be picking up the Hydroboost system off of Pops and looking at a rust free bed to replace the one I've got. If it's... -

Hydroboost Setup
I'm out in the Katy area, but I've already told oneluckypops that I'd buy his system. I'd consider a trade on your system as well, but I'm pretty sure my vacuum booster, although is in good shape, is also as old as the truck itself. Let me know what you think. -

Looked it up on the map and location seems familiar... I was thinking Shields when I asked. :) The two lots I know of down here in H-Town pale in comparison to what I remember that one to be from when I was younger. -

Which PAP do you hit up? I used to go back in the day with my dad to one out there on the southwest side of the city if I remember the location correctly... Loved it... A lot of fun to just go explore and see what all's out there. -

Blinkers/Hazzards stop working when headlights turned on...
DOH! Well I feel stupid now... Got home and realized that the tail lights are grounded to the bed which was insulated from the frame by a few pieces of 4x4 timber. At least I know how things behave with the lights when missing a major grounding point. :drunk:- SlickGTP

I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on this, but fuses have been checked... Not sure if this is happening on account of the new printed circuit I installed, my tinkering with my dual tank set up, or some other failure. Finally got my tank selection solenoid hooked up minus the activation wire... That last part will happen when I get a new terminal for the auxiliary tank. Then it'll be an official dual tank set up. This week sometime if all goes well. Still have to drop the primary tank and change out the... -

Thanks! I finally got in there and pulled the trim piece all the way out. Plug twisted out easily enough and behold... A mounting nut for the shoulder harness. Now I just have to decide if I want to drill holes in my existing trim or buy new trim pieces... -
