Latest Lost Cause Project: 1979 Z28
The engine we pulled has a 14010207 casting which should have been a early 80's 4 bolt main truck block. The temp replacement is 10066036 which was a GM replacement engine. Again, should be 4 bolt if I looked up the correct specs.- Midnightmoon

Hedman Headers
Hedman Long Tube headers. Nice shape. They came with an engine I just purchased and are not needed. They were in a '69 C10 but I believe that they list the fit as '67 to '91 Chevy/GMC truck and SUV SBC. Model number is in photo (69099 possibly?) The engine in the car was a passenger side dipstick. This temporary replacement is drivers side. I think I can switch it if needed. Hopefully, it will work.- Midnightmoon

In addition to my daughters and my nephew, my buddies 12 year old son has been working with us for the last week. He is an incredible little worker and I'm more than happy to let him do anything he wants on this. Today I got to show him how to find TDC, install the distributor, etc.- Midnightmoon

That's what I was thinking too. Definitely don't need the AC compressor (non-AC car). Headers aren't in bad shape. They were all in a '69 C10. Probably going to use the alternator and billet accessories on this car. I didn't look up the compressor, but the alternator lists for $198.99 new...- Midnightmoon

Today's update. Going to pull the engine tomorrow morning. Have everything ready for it to be yanked. Head has a heavy score around the suspect bolt hole. Block deck has the similar damage. I'm not going to trust it unless I take it out and have it gone over at a machine shop. Been...- Midnightmoon

One more thing while I'm thinking about it, take a look at the head pic I posted. I didn't notice this until I was looking at the pictures right now. It looks to me that the raised heilcoil scored an almost perfect circle in the head around that bolt hole, almost in to the sealing ring area of...- Midnightmoon

Really kind of a shame too. Looks to have been a virgin block with all new internals. Standard Bore still stamped on the pistons. Everything on the top end looked to be in great shape.- Midnightmoon
