What have you done to your square lately??

I wanted to "restore" the straps before putting in the new tanks. Pulled the whole thing down easily.

What have you done to your square lately??

I feel ya. One of mine had a hole from rocks between the shield. I dumped all that dirt and debris out of the shield and tank, on one side! It was black asphalt before I tipped it out. I did choose to reuse the shields though for now.

What have you done to your square lately??

I don't recall mine being hampered the cat, but I have a short wide 2wd so placement could be different. This is unfortunately the best shot I have of that area...

What have you done to your square lately??

Well I'll be dipped! Just got the call from the transmission shop and good news it was. Main issue a stuck pressure switch and the secondary issues were speedo housing and tailshaft seal leaks. Pan was dropped and almost zero forbidden glitter so it got a new filter, fluid and gasket along with...

Opinions on best newish Suburban or Tahoe

I had an '04 Yukon and loved it. Only sold it for two Hondas, one for me and one for my now wife to commute. I replaced those with a 287k miles, 4.8, 4wd Silverado and it was awesome. Sold it at 315k with everything still working and the guys still driving the wheels off it. I replaced that with...

    Show your daily driver

Doesn't count against you. The only pedals we judge are gas, brake and clutch! I'm totally ready for an E bike for riding around big shows and swap meets.

What have you done to your square lately??

Put her on a tow truck to the local transmission shop this morning. Hopefully, going to get the 700r4 sorted out and drive it on the regular this year. Fingers crossed it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

    Emissions question

Not exactly. If you go to the state run office chances of you getting off easy is significantly higher. A tag office will bend you over the counter DRY. It took me 6 MONTHS to register my '84 when I got it. The blue hair at the local tag office tried to charge me sales tax on book value of...

    Emissions question

FYI there's a bill in the WA legislature(HB1194) to FORCE you to have collector vehicle insurance with specified liability limits AND have a second registered vehicle for daily driving. Just another in the litany of reasons to say F#@% WA state! I.CAN'T.WAIT.TO.MOVE!

You should sell me the 700 and get whatever your heart desires, lol.

    Looking At A 2005 Z71 4x4

Don't know what the asking price is, but that's a fair amount of damage/rust. It had better be cheap.

    Hi - from Upstate, SC

Welcome! My leak was behind the controls. There's a rubber "manifold" that internally fell apart and wouldn't align the doors properly. Was a right pain to track one down for replacement.

    LMC Dash Pad Supplier

I bought one from LMC last winter. It was dashes direct supplied and might have a similar corner issue. I just test fitted it before everything got shelved so I can't say for sure.

New daily project 2005 Silverado 2wd CCSSB

I repaired the rear defrost by plugging it back in on both sides. Detailer must have pulled them off? I threw in a set of weather tech mats all around and swapped the stereo. Luckily the converter box was already installed by the PO, though the chime is busted and waiting for me to swap it out...

New daily project 2005 Silverado 2wd CCSSB

Yeah, now that its been said i can't unsee it, lol. I've been both styles of moulding I'm pretty sure. Mine is an LS with all the power options including steering controls, manual dual zone climate, but no bose, leather or center console. To be honest I only realized about the electric fans...

Well I never noticed, but can't unsee it now that you said something. I assume original, but you are right that they look different compared to Huck's Z71. Either way they're probably coming off. I want to wrap it to look like the '84 eventually.

Next was a full maintenance and inspection. Front end needed a new tie rod on the passenger side, but the feller had put all new brakes on it for me! How nice of him. So, new tie rod and alignment and the suspension was now sorted. Oil change to inspect for sparkle particles and general...

New daily project 2005 Silverado 2wd CCSSB

Luckily this rig had a spotless interior. I can attribute that to papaw and the obvious deep clean it had. This thing smelled straight from the detailers and a little musty too. It was labeled bio hazard at the auction, but the pics showed clothes and food only, no bodily fluids, maybe a touch...

New daily project 2005 Silverado 2wd CCSSB

Well, it has been a minute! So much happening with marriage, potential house purchase and move, etc. I've been completely off grid. This is my penance I reckon lol. After the wedding in June and in preparation for the move to SC, I sold my 2002 Silverado Extra Cab 4wd. It had the 4.8 and 318k...

Are OE lug studs long enough? 77 C10

@Grit dog They are not. Had to get tires for the Pilot on the Discount Card a few weeks ago and just paid it off. I'll probably wait until I get to SC anyway. We just got married this weekend and are trying to pay it off before we buy a house. Luckily, I think we spent less than $5k on the soirée.
