    Hmmm. My first thought was you have a high stall torque converter installed, but 3000 is really loose. Do you know the converter specs? Since reverse works properly it’s probably something internal to the transmission. Clutch plates etc.

    Factory way was a coarse threaded stud that threaded into the bedside. I don’t have a picture handy but they aren’t reproduced that I know of. I like the insert idea offered above. That would preserve removability and still hold well.

    Long story short on this project is that I ended up with temporary shop space that was more like storage... I didn't advance the project for a year, then ended up with a knee replacement and other parts of life taking over. I'm now getting back to working on this thing and hope to move it along...
