    Odd Cooling System issue

The new "Fail-safe" T-stats "fail" OPEN! My mechanic buddy is NAPA Certified Repair, but WILL NOT use their t-stats for this exact reason. A co-worker of mine was having this issue on his '89 Blazer and I told him to change the stat as I thought it was stuck open, even though he said "It's...

87 V10 Custom Deluxe TBI Issues

Can you give me more info on the resistor, & where it goes? I think I read somewhere that it is soldered between injector power wires?? My truck is missing the pump, and I cannot get it to stop over-fueling at idle.

What have you done to your square lately??

I'm having an over-fueling problem myself. I'm running a JET Performance chip, the 2nd one theyv'e sent me, and they're claiming it's the correct one for GM's last ECM update for the TBI trucks. Everything but the TPS is new, I've rebuilt the TB, have a Power Tower, pod spacer, increased fuel...

What have you done to your square lately??

I discovered my radiator has developed a slight leak on the bottom side somewhere. F*@#!!! It's going to be below zero for a few nights, so I guess I'll deal with it when it warms up.

    Axle ratio help

Put it on a lift, turn your rear wheel one revolution, and count how many times the drive shaft rotates in that same revolution.

1986 c2500 GMC fuel gauge duel tank issues

That truck is a cream puff, wow! Don't count on the port valve switch being fine. More than likely it's CHINESE CRAP, or is it original?. I had to get my auxilary tank in service when I bought my truck, new sending unit, re-wired the correct factory tank selector switch in, and installed new...

    Looking At A 2005 Z71 4x4

My opinion is the it's Chevy's WORST body design EVER! The front clip looks cheap & chinsey to me, but the drive trains seem to hold up well. I owned a '99 1500 w/5.3 and really liked it though. I also bought an '07 HD Crew w/6.0 gasser new, and that was one of the best trucks I ever owned. My...

What have you done to your square lately??

I tackled the intake gasket replacement on Saturday. 8 hours later...I was headed back home. I didn't get to time it with a light, just by ear as my dogs & I were both getting hungry! By the time I got home, my idle was high, and it was lacking power, so I feared I had a bad air leak because I...

    1980 Door Speakers

Although a cool factor exist with these. I bet farting in a tin can would sound better, and I wouldn't hack up my doors to entertain a pair of those for all the $ in the world! Only way I would, is if I owned a 1980 and was doing a complete resto on it.

    Quadrajet rebuild problems

Should be easy to see if it's getting/squirting fuel. If it is, I'm with Ricko on making sure distributor is in the right spot.

What have you done to your square lately??

I've been driving mine to work quite a bit lately. Tonight when I got home, I noticed steam came out from under my hood. I immediately started it back up, turned on the lights to see where my temp gauge was. It was around 200, no biggie, so I popped the hood and grabbed a flashlight. I saw...

    Choke Issues

Make sure your float isn't sticking, or maybe somehow the needle and seat are worn. There is a fine line with those choke adjustments, maybe open it so it has about 3/16ths gap when completely cold, or even stick a medium sized screw driver in between the plate at start up to see if that helps...

'87 Cruise/Wiper Switch Help or Info

I've replaced my cruise/wiper switch to try and get my cruise working. I've ordered 2 switches now from 2 different sellers, and both are a tiny bit different than my stock switch. One seller lists it for my truck, the other say's it won't fit it, but they both share all the same other vehicle...

    67 Mile V10

Title's SELDOM match actual mileage, that doesn't mean SQUAT if they don't. Several of my title's state mileage at the time of registration. You can essentially tell the DMV annything on the mileage at the time of registration, as they usually never check to verify. At least that's how it is in...

Trying to identify this color of blue

There were a few different color possibilities. I'd look at every year of square paint charts & pick the one you like. In this case, I'd say #25, Medium Blue Iridium, and yes, Iridiums WERE metallic!. You're gonna get 20 different answers because everyone is a genius, and see's colors...
