Differences in 400 & 350 what will & will not swap?
The heads are not the same so beware there. You can use 400 heads on a 350 but you cannot put 350 heads (in stock form) on a 400. The 400 has additional oil passages that can be drilled by a machine shop into other sbc heads. The pattern is the same but you will be unhappy soon after swapping...- TravisB

I had a blast, met @Johnny Mac at the BluePrint engine tent, saw Tony Angelo and the twinpala, saw Cleetus McFarland and LeeRoy, and my youngest daughter had a good time too so it was totally worth the day. Brian Lohnes did all the track announcing too just like on TV. You guys should check it... -

The first link to my thread is a picture. I took it apart again to see what went wrong and the rubber plunger came off the pump rod and was just hung in the bottom of the pump well. I wasn't sure that's what was wrong until I took it apart. The pic shows the pump and plunger as two pieces...- TravisB

5/7 drop??
That looks like a drop spindle to me and you are all over that bump stop. Look at how it has busted up the rubber from banging on it. No doubt the age of the rubber is what has caused it to break up but you have been hitting the bump stop for sure. Your front springs must be super short.- TravisB

I am sure someone has already said so but this is probably your accelerator pump. If your ignition is all right like your spark advance and stuff I am betting that is the only thing it could be. Maybe a huge vacuum leak but I doubt it. You can pretty easily check all three of those if you have...- TravisB
