    Blazer spare tire bracket

I have something similar in mine, but it looks home-made. I'll get a picture of it tonight.

Bad Key Cylinder? Nope. Bad Starter!!

I had an almost identical experience with my old '79 C10. I realized the Switch at the base of the Column was damaged after I had already installed the Bush-button Starter Switch.

    SOLD. 1966 Ford Galaxie 500

Aw man, that means my memories from 45 years ago are not entirely accurate. It must have been a 289 car. Definitely wasn't a 352. And it was certainly a 2bbl car. Always had choke pull-off issues.

    SOLD. 1966 Ford Galaxie 500

Nope. Ford offered both the 351 and 352 among many engines for the 1966 Galaxie. Everything from straight 6 to a 428 (badged as a "7 Litre". The 352 was a Big Block (FE) engine. The 351 was a small block.

    SOLD. 1966 Ford Galaxie 500

Not rich just used to hand-me-downs. That car was passed down from my oldest sister to my mom to one of my older brothers. He traded it in on a brand new 1982 Ford EXP.

    1978 chevy 350 issue

My '80 Camaro had that issue. Turned out to be worn Cam Lobes on 7 & 8 Exhaust. Someone back in the day told me that GM was using cheaper steel for Cam Shafts in those years. Don't know if that's true or not. But a new Cam, Lifters and Timing Set and that Camaro was back up and running.

    Long tube headers/dual exhaust question

From my experience Exhaust sound will vary with the routing/pipe geometry. So there is no "one-size-fits-all". If you like the sound as it is leave it alone. I had a '79 C10 with a stockish 350 4bbl where all I had was a Y-pipe and muffler with a short pipe that ended a foot or so behind the...

Trying to identify this color of blue

Looks like 1980 Paint Code 29. That was the color of my '80 Camaro. It was a very dark blue with metal flake. People would see it at night and ask if I was the owned the "Black Camaro?". My answer was always, "No".

Drop pittman arm or raised steering arm or both

You'll best off to go to Crossover Steering. I installed the ORD kit on my K5. made a huge improvement in the handling.

Need help identifying 12v wire for electric choke

I usually just run a wire from the 12V IGN Terminal in the Fuse Box to the Choke. Works great. Just need to find a place to snake it through the firewall.

    Winch Mount

I went with RLC Fabrication. Great quality, but they are bare metal when you get them. https://www.rlcweldfab.com/collections/chevy-bumpers/products/custom-winch-bumper-for-chevy-gmc-trucks-1973-1987

Accidentally bought a shortbox square body

Welcome. The last time I accidentally bought a car it was a 1997 Cavalier Z24. Bought it from my brother-in-law while we were drinking darts and throwing beer. My wife was pissed. She hated that car.

    Bare Hands

I'm in the no gloves camp (except when digging, trimming trees and shrubs, splitting wood or doing concrete work). Wrenching is a hobby not my career. Gloves slow me down, and I feel like I have less dexterity when I wear them. I do get cuts and scrapes. the joke is that I leave my DNA on...

    Best tires

I run the BFG KO2 on my 4WD trucks and Jeeps. They wear great and have good all-around traction. I got 90,000 miles out of a set on my old '97 Grand Cherokee.

    350 or LS

If your truck is in good shape, LS swap is cool now, but 20 years from now it will be a classic truck with the wrong engine.

From 350 trans to 400 transmission

Not sure of the interchange with another vehicle, but if you need one made, I recommend Fort Wayne Clutch & Driveline. They've built several for me over the years and always have done a good job. They ship anywhere in the country.

    New Member in Eastern Montana

Welcome! I was at the Talladega race last Sunday. They interviewed a fan from Montana. I remarked to my son that when I was in the Marine Corps, I met Marines from almost every state except Montana. So I didn't think anyone lived there. I guess I missed you. Semper Fi
